i don't expect him to concede Memphis kids before first game ever. the memphis kids who took us to Elite 8's and F4's were very overrated.

Playing loosely with numbers and words. Most Tiger BASKETBALL fans know we have had a Memphis laden roster except for Cal years-S16 on avg of every 3 or so years for past 35 years-7 elite 8's, 3 F4's. that's our history. Did not google-working from memory-numbers are close. And don't dismiss vacated ones-they happened.

Just because Josh Pastner screwed up Joe, Adonis, Tarik, Nichols and Nick King doesn't mean we should give up on Memphis kids

I agree we need Memphis kids. We won't succeed without them. We also won't succeed with them exclusively. And they don't all grow-up wanting to be Tigers. Over the past 14 years, we've gotten less than 1 out of 3 high-level Memphis kids. We need to do better. But just because we on here want it to happen, doesn't mean it will. Cal and Pastner haven't been able to do it. The times they are a-changin.

I will add an addendum to Cal and the Memphis kids. He did pass on a lot of Memphis kids. However, he offered every Memphis 5-star that came through, and only signed 1 of 4. He mostly passed on the 4's and 3's. And with the way he recruits, I get it. He didn't want the headaches of local kids' people in his ear. But the bigger point is that they are all not just dying to get here. I think many are, but then other things get in the way.
