Can the Huskies win out?
I think Maddie will continue to improve and many wins are still attainable.

RE: Can the Huskies win out?
I think they will lose 1-2 more games and finish with 5-6 total wins for the season

RE: Can the Huskies win out?
No way will they win out. My guess is maybe 2 or 3 more wins - at most. This team has forgotten how to play football without making tons of mistakes. With our defense, the offense will need to score over 40 to win a game - assuming the defense can hold the opposition to under 40. IMO, that will be impossible against Toledo and probably CMU.

RE: Can the Huskies win out?
Can we win out? Yes.

Will we? CMU is always a tough game for us and then there is Toledo and EMU, who played Toledo tough. We can if the offense keeps rolling and the defense starts to get their act together. IMO we can't fix the defense this year but some changes seems are needed so the D does not give up too many points for the O to overcome.

I think they'll get 4 more wins and that's about it.

They can but I don't think they will. I'm hoping to lose just one more and end up .500. We have to beat Central and split Toledo and Eastern. Kent State just suddenly found an offense so that won't be a cake walk either. That might be just enough to save Carey this season.

RE: Can the Huskies win out?
I am back in with this team, they are so very close to crushing the opposition on a weekly basis.
Not only can they win out, they can win the MACC and the bowl game.
The WMU game is history - the pressure of expectations is behind them and they are going on a historic winning run.
WMU on the other hand is about to implode under the weight of expectations.

Go Huskies!

RE: Can the Huskies win out?
This topic is for crazy people. This Defense is not good at all, any deep balls our corners NEVER turn around and we get flagged. We are going to lose 2 more games at least. We need to be realistic and understand that this is not our year and that we just aren't good enough to compete this year.

RE: Can the Huskies win out?
Not a chance we win out. In looking at the remaining games, We may win 3-4 of them. (Buffalo and Kent State, BG , possibly EM although they are improved) I do not see us beating CMU or Toledo.

We very well could come in 4th in the division this year. With no real QB going forward, (maybe a true freshman or redshirt may surprise us) I see the next 2-3 years as rebuilding.

Most all good teams have a solid QB to be competitive. We do not have one looking forward to 2017. I although I think that was the best played game I have seen out of the Huskies this year, we still lost by 2 TD's. Our D is not playing well. Coaches were afraid to put Lurry against WM best receiver. I thought that was interesting. One guy can win a game. The theory of contain the others and let one guy get his yards did not work. I do agree that 2 of the best NCAA receivers played in that game last weekend. Hopefully, we win a couple of the remaining games. As of now, 5-6 is hopeful.

CMU did lose to WMU by much more than we did, at home. Especially with injuries, I don't think they're THAT good.

I am pretty sure the thread topic is a typo.

I am pretty sure the thread title was meant to be "Can the Huskies win?"

I.e., can Carey's Huskies win a game the rest of the season? That is a legitimate question.

They are capable talent-wise. Guessing we win 4 of the last six?

Nothing against Carey, we need fresh blood after this season for sure. New face, new recruiter, maintain our mojo as a premier G5.

That was one ugly loss. One of those games where everything went wrong for us and everything went right for them.

I know you acknowledged our injuries and I appreciate that. The 49-10 loss is not who we are. That game we missed 2 of our top 3 RBs, our top 2 defensive players, our top WR along with our #3 WR, our best OL, and our 2nd best DL. Yes injuries happen but Jesus H. Christ we were without 8 playmakers or so. Regardless, we still would have lost but it probably would have been decently competitive.

NIU is improving but we are also getting healthier and some guys back. I think we win but this has already been a wild season.

The schedule gets a hell of a lot easier after CMU. I think they could win out, but i don't have enough faith in the defense to think they will.

Yep, i am drinking the good stuff.
I highly recommend freshly "juiced" organic carrots, celery, ginger and ... (secrete sauce) which provides tremendous stamina,

and is much healthier than the alternative.

They have a legitimate shot at winning five more games. The Toledo game is doubtful.

RE: Can the Huskies win out?
It's somewhat comical to say NIU can't win out because their defense is awful. WMUs defense is awful. It's an OFFENSIVE league. Every MAC defense sucks. The Huskies have offense. Yes they can win out.
