And on top of that if we have another Maddie he might not start.

I feel like we could have the next Cam Newton and he would not play. Our coaching staff is not real good at evaluating our players. IMO

RE: my biggest fear
Let's have some hope that the coaching staff won't be around next year. If it happens, we need to get someone in place fast so that recruiting will be minimally affected. As to the QB situation, unfortunately we don't know how good the QBs under Hare/Maddie are. If they don't work out or can't get up to speed fast enough, it will be another long year. Of equal concern is our abysmal D. This doesn't look good, and we could have several down years.

Don't forget WR. Golladay and Turner will both be gone. Who will step up? Even Golladay essentially fell into our laps when he decided to transfer from ND. Lucky break for us.

KG and Huff have been our only two dynamic players this year on O. what has turner done ?? last year he was much better. Turner has like 240 yards total outside of his KR yards so not much in 6 games 40 yards per game

Yea he did more in previous years. But do we even have somebody to replace his limited production? Maybe we do but they're on the bench.

even if we did get a new coaching staff, look how well U of I is faring under Lovie. 1-4. We've been lucky to transition three times and not miss a beat.

In coaches defense with the QB situation, I was at a couple practices. Maddie did not look this good. It's tricky to evaluate your quarterbacks when they're trash at practice....He's a gamer.

RE: my biggest fear
My biggest fear is that Frazier won't get rid of Carey after this season. Then we get to continue watching NIU go down this path of losing.

The coaching staff is wasting Ducee. The only way he gets the ball is the screen and jet sweep. They need to throw slants and outs to him as well. Give him a chance in open field.

The one practice I went to last year, they held Hare out and Maddie got all the reps with the ones. He got rid of the ball quickly and made good decisions and I felt great about the QB situation. We all knew he was a better runner than Hare. Hare is still the better thrower imo but Maddie's running is making a bigger difference right now.

RE: my biggest fear
In our offense, having the more dynamic threat at QB is important and Graham did/does not have that. Maddie has speed, seems quicker to the hole and a faster decision maker, but he's not a JL type, breaking multiple tackles, even though he did at BSU on his long TD run.

Said the same thing after Harnish and Lynch graduated also. Things turned out OK.

I do not know why Carey likes to run Kenny G on the jet sweep. Where he goes, two defenders follow. Send him deep to take the defenders away from the play.

I think Carey has erotic dreams about the jet sweep and bubble screen.

Kenny has 14 carries this year, for 151 yards and 2 TDs (10 YPC). So probably because it works? One of the few plays that does work for us, although it didn't work at WMU.
