Or at least let the bowl organizing committees still recognize that Houston is really good and will bring fans to their bowl game.

RE: Please Lord Baby Jesus make Navy lose twice
Am I wrong, or is it possible that Navy only has to lose once? If Memphis is undefeated in conference when we play them, the winner should take the West. Either Navy would be out of it completely at that point, or it would be a 3-way tie, which we should win.

It's possible but why chance it?

Things will be easier if ECU does something right for once and beats Navy on Thursday then USF beats them and Memphis finishes them off. Hell, I'd even take Tulsa beating them.

Navy is 10-1 in conference play.

Will they go 3-2 in the next 5? Probably not.

With a short week to prepare for an offense that routinely destroys us, I wouldn't count on any help from the Pirates.

Catch 22. You need Navy to lose twice but every time they lose the chance of being the G5 representative goes down. Houston would have a loss to a 3 loss Navy team. It would be better if there a 3 way tie for the division.

I forget what the tiebreaker criteria is with a 3 way tie, where all 3 would be 1-1 against each other.

What makes you think UH would win the tiebreaker?

I think it's highly unlikely, anyway. Memphis and Navy both have to play USF yet.

To get to a 3-way tie assumes a lot of games going one certain way.

Vegas for some reason thinks ECU has a real shot in this game. Opening that line at Navy -3 just feels all wrong on every level. It's just too obvious for everyone to put their money on Navy. The assumption just has to be that Navy on a short week can't possibly get ready mentally after that win and ECU is basically playing for their entire season. Even still I figure you can't open that line at less than -7 Navy.

Depends on which Navy team shows up. Early, they struggled against both UConn and Tulane, and a week ago lost to AFA.

But they looked nothing like that team against UH.

At any rate, they still have to play USF and Memphis, so there is at least a chance of 3-2 in the last 5. Have to play Tulsa, too.

I believe a three- way tie goes to the highest ranked team

Correct, which means Houston would be in the diver's seat in a three-way tie

I don't think the OP knows how "Lord Baby Jesus" threads are supposed to work.

That's going to be tough when Tulsa beats Memphis and UH.

I'm just using it as a joke, I don't view it as a jinx anymore.

Highest ranked in the CFP? Or somewhere else? I seem to vaguely recall that now.
