The most relevant they've been in more than I can remember, and now some folks are annoyed?

We are going through a University Presidential search, the AD seems awed by the "Tuberville" name, and attendance hasn't suffered yet, and he was signed to a contract extension over the off-season. Plus he has an unending store of excuses.
UC could be a good rehab for Charlie Strong if he were fired at Texas and if UC were open, but I don't think UC will fire Tubs...
I thought this thread was supposed to be about coaches who are in trouble. Tuberville isn't a coach, he's just a retired aw-shucks kind of guy who's richly compensated ($44 K/week) to stick his toe in the dirt, spin yarns, slap backs, and play golf. Stay on topic, please.

We would take him in Raleigh if he can pass the Born Against Baptist/Catholic test our fans apply on all coaches.

Doubtful. May be on the hot seat next year but this is his first bad season in Tucson.

I'm not that certain. The talent level has declined from what Stoops left it at (this year's class isn't so hot on the recruiting front, either...described as MWC caliber at best) and it seems he can't coach his way out of a paper bag unless the right pieces show up on campus. Tucson isn't that easy to recruit to, so it might be best to cut bait as soon as the buyout terms allow it.
Hell, he might just hope an east coast job comes up. He gone(!) in that case.

RichRod's buyout is reportedly about $9 million. So RichRod is almost certainly still coaching Arizona next year unless he negotiates a lower buyout amount or bails out for another job.

For what it's worth, I'd heard that RichRod was anxious to get back closer to home and coach somewhere in the east or midwest, so his voluntarily leaving wouldn't be the most surprising thing in the world.

RichRod's daughter is a junior at UA and she's on the cheerleading squad. Seems more likely that if he was going to leave voluntarily, he'd do so after she graduates.

Yeah, that makes sense, just passing along something I had heard through the grapevine. But I definitely could see that as a reason he'd want to stay at least one more year.

I bet Paul Petrino lands one of the two with the job he's done at Idaho.

Where does Fleck end up? He can hold out for something more than Purdue.

If I was Colorado's AD, I'd be on the phone nonstop with my boosters to raise more money for MacIntyre, because he should be on Oregon's list.
