Two good years and he gone

That would suck because good football coaches are hard to find. Hope Memphis gets into a power conference or becomes independent like ND

We gotta keep making good hires. That's just the nature of college football.
Yep but the difference here is it would set us back years compared to other places!! With what is going on in CF we can't afford to go back to being bad..

Good Dude wish him well hopefully, he will give us a home and home, if not at least give us a couple of games. We need to play the toughest occ, schedule we can

I don't want to jinx us, but think about this for a second:

We lose the best coach we've had in over 35 years and our first-year, youngest-coach-in-America has us 4-1 with a very, very good chance at a bowl game AND we will most likely average around 38k/game.

To me, that sounds like a PROGRAM. Very nice.

No beef with Fuente but he lost the only game this year I cared about

Good luck with that. We haven't played Virginia Tech at our place for almost 40 years.

I really don't think he had a choice in that. Maybe he would have kept Foster anyway if he did, but the sense I got was that Fuente was told that the job is his, but Foster is staying.

Why wouldn't he want to keep Foster? It lets him focus on the offense. Foster was a candidate for the job Fuente got. It doesn't often work out well in that situation.

That's what Arkansas State thought too. I hope you are right.

Yep we were lucky to have him

We really were. He completely turned the program around.

So right. His turnaround of our toilet bowl program was almost miraculous. I'm glad we have Norvell now but I have to tip my hat to Fuente for making this an attractive place to coach when he left.

Tommy West had some good years, but JF had a culture change. A real change of direction.

The reason we HAD a culture change is BECAUSE of Tommy West. He said what no one else would that had the ear of the media.

He was the spark we needed. Porter was a miscalculation, but an honest effort.

Miscalculation does not do justice in describing the disaster known as the Larry Porter Error.

It was only two years, it was corrected quickly. In the 90s, he would have set up shop for a decade.

Some careless fumbles and penalties in their utk game are all that has stopped them from being undefeated.
