I like Hop, he's a great guy and a hate to type this, but he's a very average coach. I'm sure he'll be able to eek out 7-9 wins a year against the weak competition we face. But if you want something more, which I do, he just isn't the guy. I hate it because he loves this place and you'll never meet a better guy, I wanted this to work out so bad I may have been blinded. Too bad Monken left, I think that guy could have been special here.

Also just curious is he on pain medication or something? he looked like a shaken player all the game.

RE: Hopson
Going to have a hard time winning many games when you average almost three turnovers per game. Very undisciplined team as the majority of those turnovers weren't forced by the defense. Even many of the fumbles have been caused by loose grips on not very strong tackles. Very disappointing.

Once upon a time the likes of UTSA, WKU, La Tech and the others were considered inferior opponents. Not anymore. We have been dragged down to their level.

You can go a step further with that statement. There was a time when the likes of Louisville, Houston, Memphis, ECU, South Florida, UCF, etc., etc., etc., were considered inferior opponents. Not anymore. We have been dragged down below their level.

I have to say, I agree!

True and absolutely depressing. It does appear that the days of good Southern Miss football are long gone never to return.

I'm not sure he's even an average coach. Give him another year and we could be a bottom dweller of CUSA again.

RE: Hopson
"Dragged" is too passive a verb. "Dug" would be more appropriate.
