When LSU had a weather emergency, it lost home games and played on the road. When a weather emergency hits Florida...everyone else has to pay the price

Isn't this the same stunt that Florida played when the game got cancelled with Idaho? I remember that people here was calling for Idaho to forfeit the game if it came all the way down to that....

Florida St Miami game looked just fine when I saw a little bit on TV a while ago.

Did they really need to cancel the game in Florida?? They played in NC St, and that looked like it should have been cancelled.

it baffles me

Likely the same reason LSU wouldn't agree to play next years game in Gainesville as a concession

That would completely screw things up. It's different when there's a natural disaster that forces you to change the game for one season.

Not really any difference between the two. 15 and 16 in BR, 17 and 18 in Gainesville.

LSU doesn't want to do it because it's not fair and they would lose a home game. Florida doesn't want to move the game for the same reasons.

I don't know why they couldn't play it Sunday or Monday. It's not like they're going to miss any book learning.

Matthew made landfall near Cape Canaveral - too much uncertainty about how much damage would have been in the Gainesville area, especially since earlier forecasts had the storm getting further inland. Lots of evacuees wound up staying in hotel rooms in Tallahassee and Mobile; Tuscaloosa was probably the next best option.

Moving the game to Sunday or Monday still would have put considerable stress on emergency personnel and support staff to play the game in Gainesville.

The Florida-Georgia game must be moved. The clock is ticking, Mr. Sankey.

Florida-Georgia shouldn't be moved because Florida messed up. A lot of fans have already made their plans.
