the trial has already cost Rose BIG MONEY. He has very little chance of much in the endorsement field due to the trial even if his play returns to a high level.

If Rose gets back to all star level his endorsements will still be almost nil, where it would have been tens if not a hundred million dollars, if not for the trial (assuming he gets back to all star level in a Knicks uniform)

RE: Derek Rose rape case
no charges were ever filed....so the chances of jail tie in this are nil. Its a CIVIL case after all..where the burden of proof isn't as great as it would have been in a criminal trial.

I'd say PLENTY of times...

I don't see this as a rape case, but DRose will never be accused of being the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I think if he gets to championship level play, all will be forgotten for right or wrong. This is very similar to the Kobe case in my opinion. It will be discussed for a long time if Rose doesn't do well, but let him get a couple of championships with the Knicks and it won't be brought up again.

I don't agree with it, but that's the way I see it playing out.

I feel like rape needs to be taken more seriously, but this just smells fishy. 2 years and then she wants moola? No formal charges? She doesnt want her rapist in jail? Nah. Ain't buying it.

Case would be weak in criminal case due to his celebrity status and her intoxication. Along with needing an unanimous vote by jury. BUT the testimony in the civil case is helping to build a stronger criminal case.

Rose is now on the record admitting that she never invited him over for sex. Admitting that she never gave her consent. Admitting that she did say no. Admitting that once the first guy finished she tried to craw off the bed and they pulled her back on.

None of his would come out in criminal case because he could not be forced to testify. But now his own testimony and admission is on the record.

Have to wonder if this was some guy off the street instead of a former Tiger if so many people would be willing to give him a pass?

yet she texted him that he was the reason "she woke up horny"...

C'mon...damn near every text she sent him was sexually charged.

What I am about to say in no way thinks I think he is innocent or guilty. I haven't heard all the evidence and I wasn't there that night.

With that said, text messages do not necessarily prove consent. Consent can be given or taken away at any time for any reason. Sexting is never consent for anything further than that if a woman doesn't want it to be.

But as I said above, I don't know if hes guilty or innocent. I am speaking in generic terms.

And I'm betting he had very little experience with women in relationships when he was younger.

I'm not defending or attacking either. It's a no win ugly situation, imo. And I would refuse to be on any jury that looked at it.

But I remember when Kobe got into some kind of hotel employee scene in Denver.

I get that....I do.
But if a girl is sending you sexually charged messages...you make me horny...you make me hot....etc and then says "can I come over?" what do you expect to happen...bumping uglies or playing checkers? (sorry for the crudity)

She admitted to being intoxicated

No medical report

No rape kit

Waited two years

Plus she's allegedly deleted some text messages and her attorneys have withheld evidence

Sounds like there's a lot of reasonable doubt

But as for Rose ... You're a friggin NBA superstar. Why are you sharing a chick with your boys?

When you said 'his boys' it reminded me of something

There are boys who don't like girls all that much but want to impress 'their' boys--not sayin that's the case--just sayin

No doubt. He might be in the closet or too dumb to realize his own true sexual preferences. Either way, it's just a sick way of thinking.

Between this and his recent comment about the knicks now being a nba "superteam", he is looking like a big dummy.

I think it's a problem with a lot of NFL and NBA players from poor backgrounds

They can't get away from their childhood friends

Look at Zbo. It's taken him a long time

And let's not even mention Shawne Williams and the troubles he's had

I think DRose is a good guy, but he makes questionable decisions

He seems like a great guy on so many levels...Cal really liked him.
Where his career has gone is pretty heartbreaking.

I don't think he was allowed to make many decisions in his formative years tho.
