RE: AD on the field
JHG, Rhule and Kraft may be the nicest guys on the planet and highly regarded among their peers. Fair or not, since we've never met them in person, we can only judge what we see on the field, on TV, and by what they say in interviews and press conferences one day out of the year. What we saw last Thursday night was a coach complaining to the refs A LOT, including side-by-side with his AD on the field, and who continued to complain during the post-game presser.

Not a good look, I don't care where you're from.

Philly - Incredible US history, Continental Congress, Independence Hall, cheesesteak, Grace Kelly

Memphis - Birthplace of the Blues, Civil Rights museum, barbecue, FedEx, Elvis, St. Jude

Lots to like about both places.

I mean, I can understand the Kraft stuff, but again, I'm glad we have an AD who gives a ****. As far as Coach Rhule goes, it's like you guys have never watched a college football game before. You guys must really hate college basketball, because coaches are a million times worse.

You won, we lost. It was a pretty good game. I don't see why you're still talking about it. In fact, it's been discussed more here than on both of our message boards combined.

I can summarize what it entails. It entails our city's football team leaving the entrails of your's on the gridiron.

YOU GOT THAT part right! At least for me. The only reason I can watch basketball at all is school pride and interest. If I didn't have a rooting interest in it, the coaching behavior would make the sport completely unwatchable for me.

Anyone here complaining about Matt Rhule has never watched Mark Gottfried stomp up and down the court.

Agree that a good AD should care deeply about his team, coach, performance, etc. Disagree that having your AD on the field yelling at officials is a good way to show it.

RE: AD on the field
My personal observation (with no data to support it):

The best football coaches typically don't whine and complain excessively to the refs. They may get heated every now again, both with their players/assist coaches and with the refs, but they tend to remain composed most of the time. When they do get hot over a call, it's more meaningful because it doesn't happen every play.

A lot of us knew Justin Fuente would be successful based on the way he carried himself from the very beginning. You didn't seem him unravel on the sidelines, regardless of the situation.

I haven't seen a lot of Temple games, but Rhule has a pretty good reputation. I wonder, though, if his magic touch has started to wear off and is causing him to unravel. Seemed that way against Memphis.

We've dealt with a lot of injuries and inexperience, and I think he might be frustrated by it.

You've obviously never met the guy, because you won't find a nicer, more caring and more down to earth guy. Appreciate your characterization though. Your obesity, racism, incest, and lack of education is showing, am I right?

Well, that escalated quickly
