here is my experience going from windows 10 1511 to windows 10 1607

my old laptop updated ok
but had issues with my i7 desktop

was getting error OxC1900101-Ox40017 on second boot

my solution was to
1. unplug my old usb camera
2. unplug my 1 terry usb external hard drive
3. unplug my usb wireless mouse

after that i was able to install 14393.222 (still took a while to load)

i guess that is the difference between open and closed systems

I hope to God I never have to find out how to update Windows 10.

I'm still resisting the upgrade on my beater laptop with the free program I downloaded. It's still working.

The free upgrade program is over, so you shouldn't have to worry about that any more.

I've been pretty happy with Windows 10 so far, but the Aniiversary Update does have some issues with USB devices.

When did they end the free upgrade program? I was still getting the demand to comply last week...but just ignoring it.

It "ended" in July, but they just pushed out an update a week or two ago that removes the pop ups. Here's an article about it. and here's a link to the patch itself.

went to windows creator version 1703 today

with no issues
