If K State likes (or hates) Tulane, then a small football series won't change their opinion.
Tulane is very interesting for reasons that aren't related to how good you are in football.
The teams are developing (finally!), but Tulane's biggest draw is that the things that are "hard to fix" aren't in need of fixing. Sports investment is a relatively easy problem to fix - although not ACTUALLY easy in itself.
Actually it shows they don't see Tulane at the same level. Tulane would be better off scheduling 1-1's with Southern Miss, La Tech, U La La, Monroe, etc and not lose a home game. If you're going to do a 2-1 it should be against Texas, Oklahoma, etc

I agree - this one with K State doesn't make sense. We do have a 1/2 with OU and other p5 home and homes.
By the time this series is played, K State may be in the AAC anyway.
And yes our deficiencies are football; while much easier to fix than institutional deficiencies which are basically impossible to fix, they are still quite a challenge esp for a private school that won't accept all NCAA qualifiers nor take JCs that didn't qualify out of high school.

Maybe you should go back to your origins the sunbelt and play them. We're not interested.

Your replying to a team that went 0-12 last year. Dr. we're in better shape than them. Stop apologizing. It's their fear speaking.

Maybe, but it appears Tulsa has had its fill of 2 for 1's with Oklahoma State and refuses to commit to those terms with a program very similar to Kansas State.
Tulsa just recently signed another 2 for 1 with OSU. They play the last game of a previous 2 for 1 next year and start the new series in 2019.
I agree, but that was in 2014, and Tulsa fans voiced their displeasure with the extension. Oklahoma State's AD made a very public plea for Tulsa being on the football schedule every year this summer in the media, at the 2/1, and every year in Basketball, a 1/1, and Tulsa turned it down. Oklahoma State has a very hard time bringing in decent football opponents to Stillwater, and Tulsa wants better than a 2/1 after 2021 with the Cowboys, so no deal was reached this year for an extension.
Tulsa fans have always voiced displeasure playing OSU 2 for 1, but TU has continued to do it. I have been told that in the past the TU AD has sometimes balked at scheduling OSU 2 for 1, because of OSU's demand that TU pay them double the normal fee when OSU plays in Tulsa, which would be unusual. I do not know that for a fact. Also, I do not recall seeing any where, and I seriously doubt that, the Oklahoma State AD made a VERY PUBLIC PLEA for TU being on the schedule every year. Come on, they are not desperate and what good would that do?
I do recall OSU wanting to extend the series, but it is my understanding that TU wants to alternate the 2 for 1 series between OSU and OU. OU just completed a 2 for 1 series with TU and TU would like to complete the upcoming series with OSU then schedule OU again before scheduling another one with OSU.
Actually, Oklahoma State does NOT have a VERY hard time bringing in decent opponents to Stillwater on a home and home basis. They have scheduled home and home with Georgia, Pittsburgh, Oregon State, UCLA, Arizona etc. They also signed contracts with Clemson, Purdue and North Carolina State, but they had to cancel out because of conference scheduling changes.
However, OSU seems reluctant to pay the going fee for one and done games with decent opponents. So they schedule lack luster teams for one and done games at a lesser fee, or they schedule 2 for 1 deals with mid level teams.
Ecochallenged is correct. It was public, as in newspaper, other media.

Ecochallenged was not actually correct. Sure I recall there was an article in the newspaper that OSU wanted to extend the 2 for 1 series, on OSU's terms of course. I acknowledged that. But Eco said "OSU MADE A VERY PUBLIC PLEA FOR TU TO EXTEND THE SERIES. That is a ridiculous statement and not correct. He also said OSU has a hard time bringing decent football opponents to Stillwater, which is also not correct.

I am not particularly enthused by this but our new AD is very detailed so there had to be some basis. Maybe he wanted to kiss KState's a$$ for a potential B12 invite down the road or maybe he felt like we could win all three games and get the extra payday.

This thread is ridiculous. It's not as easy as just calling Oklahoma and getting a 2-1 game set up. We're in a poo conference, so you improve your schedule in baby steps. Leverage it to further improve your schedule later.
Or, you can just turn down their offer and keep playing teams like Southern and Maine every year. I'm sure they fill the stands.
ECU is "supposed" to have a 2-1 with South Carolina that always ends up being re-shuffled where we never actually end up hosting. We have a 1-1 with VT, but they could strong arm us into a better deal for them pretty easily if they wanted. Our fans still get hyped up for it every year that we play either of those teams. Would rather play them away than host NC A&T or Towson every time.
