Shutting up the snobs
I'm sure that 99.995% of those in here know i am a motorsports fan. Attended my first race at the Devil's Bowl at the age of 3 months. Drove for many years and owned cars for many more years. Unfortunately a racing accident ended my career.

I follow almost every form of motorsports. Used to get home from track as a kid, watched Fantastic Features and then stay up late late night and watch taped replay of Can-Am racing.

Most will not believe this, but the crap i take in here from non motorsports fans is nothing compared to the crap i received from motorsports fans who only watch one form of motorsports and to them any other form of motorsports is not worth watching. And if you do not watch their small niche' form of motorsports it means you are not sophisticated enough in their eyes to enjoy such a high level of motorsports. The ole Emperors new clothes syndrome.

Over the years there has been two or three groups who really had this attitude. The CART branch of the open wheel (Indy Car) fan base. Formula 1 fans and Sports car racing fans. Especially those who support the Lemans side of the US sports car war. Even though the war of the two main series is now over. You still have to put up with a lot of crap from them if you enjoy any other form of racing besides the European type of Sports Car racing.

Something happened this week that may get a few of their noses out of the air. The season ended this past weekend at the Petite Lemans outside of Atlanta. Then they had their awards banquet. Seems like a well renown blue blood Sports car driver, Lucas Luhr, twice an overall winner at Lemans and winner of many races in the US. Well this upper class high class form of racing driver had a little too much to drink at the banquet and found himself behind bars. He left the banquet with friends and decided that the parking lot at the local Speed Trac gas station would be a great place to take a piss.

Just to make sure i double checked this week with the management of the local dirt track and not a single one of those lower form of racers left the track and decided to take a leak in the parking lot of a local gas station.

So it looks as if the beer and hotdog drivers have more class than the wine and cheese drivers when it comes to relieving themselves in public. Wish i was a fly on the wall of BMW headquarters in Germany when he arrives back home and has to explain what he did.
