- Norvell is head coach, not you. He and his coaches, who seem to be pretty knowledgeable, have been evaluating players all summer long. No way you know more than Norvell and staff, about how to use Craft.
- Craft was the primary back when Memphis finally scored at the end of the first half. He is multi-dimensional as a back which places pressure on the defense to account for him when he's in the game.
- Numerous games in the past, and this year, Craft has made big plays.
- What's really silly is how you express such negativity about your own player(s). It's disrespectful. It would be interesting if you would say this crap to Craft's face or tell Norvell and staff to their faces how to coach or use players. I doubt if you have the courage.
Dude, it's a message board. We're all coaches here...
Sam Craft is/has been a really good player for us. Tonight, the other two guys looked better. Next game Craft may run for 200. He's been a solid player.. Relax
Not me, I'm AD
How often do you eat at Houston's?
I like the Apple Walnut Cobbler at Houston's. And your point is?
While you are pulling up stats, COACH, pull up the stats where Craft had a good game, such as Cincinnati, running the ball.
My position is about you knowing more than the coach about how to use his players. Henderson, Dorceus and Taylor Jr; I really like them all.
What, you want to go to Houston's?
Where to start...
First, the Houston's comment was not directed at you, it was directed at the poster I quoted who jokingly called himself the AD. Notice his response? He picked up I was joking about our former AD's affinity with the restaurant...
Second, you can throw out the Cincinnati game for Craft. He was excellent, but that was one game. That is clearly the exception to the rule. Not to mention, that was TWO years ago and prior to the injury that kept him out of the first few games this year. I am concerned about production today, not what a player did in prior years and this year Craft has been completely unproductive. He had 12 carries for 50 yards against Cincinnati last year and the most amount of yards in a game since the 2014 Cincinnati game is 72 against SEMO (the first game of last year). He deserves a spot on the field, just not as a RB. That is clear.
So, let me show you some more stats...
- Dorceus for the season - 52 carries, 346 yards, 5 TDs. That = 6.7 yards per carry
- Henderson seasons - 17 carries, 119 yards, 1 TD. That = 7.0 yards per carry
- Craft for season - 14 carries, 10 yards, 0 TDs. That = 0.7 yards per carry
Who is the outlier? Who is the exception? Who is not performing at the same level as the others?
Why do you think Dorceus and Henderson got all the carries in the second half and Craft did not? Do you think it is because the staff realized their mistake in the first half. Norvell appears to be a great coach and certainly knows more than me but that does not make him all knowing and infallible. Do you refer to him as Pope Mike Norvell?
