- Craft was the primary back when Memphis finally scored at the end of the first half. He is multi-dimensional as a back which places pressure on the defense to account for him when he's in the game.

- Numerous games in the past, and this year, Craft has made big plays.

- What's really silly is how you express such negativity about your own player(s). It's disrespectful. It would be interesting if you would say this crap to Craft's face or tell Norvell and staff to their faces how to coach or use players. I doubt if you have the courage.

Dude, it's a message board. We're all coaches here...

Sam Craft is/has been a really good player for us. Tonight, the other two guys looked better. Next game Craft may run for 200. He's been a solid player.. Relax

Uh, you know this is a fan message board where we discuss Memphis sports, right?

Here are the stats...
Dorceus - 8 carries 96 yards
Henderson - 7 carries 58 yards (Also had the long TD run called back where is about an inch out of bounds)
Craft - 7 carries 9 yards

As a runner Craft's longest run of the year is 13 yards and in that game he finished with 6 carries for a total of 14 yards... He is simply not a RB and it is very obvious at this point. Nobody is being overly harsh on Craft. It is perfectly fine to point out that he does not look explosive at all and that other backs are clearly performing better. He has a place on the field, it is just not in the backfield running the ball. Our offense was so much better in the second half with Dorceus and Henderson in the game and our running game actually getting some traction.

RE: Our RB's are Dorceus and Henderson. NOT Craft.
It was obvious Dorceus should have been the primary ball carried in the first half based on this first carry for 7 yards. After that, they went to Craft with no success. Why Dorceus did not get an almost immediate carry in a future play still mystifies me. I think he may have had a total of 1 or 2 possessions in the first half. He was finally used in the 3rd quarter. He scored his TD with 2:20 left in the 3rd. I am trying to remember but I think that was his 3rd total carry of the game. I am not being negative....just totally objective based on the success and non success we were having with our offense.

I like the Apple Walnut Cobbler at Houston's. And your point is?

While you are pulling up stats, COACH, pull up the stats where Craft had a good game, such as Cincinnati, running the ball.

My position is about you knowing more than the coach about how to use his players. Henderson, Dorceus and Taylor Jr; I really like them all.

What, you want to go to Houston's?

Craft seems to have lost a step. Injuries probably have taken a toll on him.

On any 3rd and short he's the best player we have

I heard he had an ankle issue coming out of the Ole Miss game. I think it was mentioned on the post-game show.

If you are going to bring up stats, you might want to look up how terrible Cincinnati's run defense was that year. I could have had a 200yd game against them.

My position is about you knowing more than the coach about how to use his players. Henderson, Dorceus and Taylor Jr; I really like them all.

What, you want to go to Houston's?

Where to start...

First, the Houston's comment was not directed at you, it was directed at the poster I quoted who jokingly called himself the AD. Notice his response? He picked up I was joking about our former AD's affinity with the restaurant...

Second, you can throw out the Cincinnati game for Craft. He was excellent, but that was one game. That is clearly the exception to the rule. Not to mention, that was TWO years ago and prior to the injury that kept him out of the first few games this year. I am concerned about production today, not what a player did in prior years and this year Craft has been completely unproductive. He had 12 carries for 50 yards against Cincinnati last year and the most amount of yards in a game since the 2014 Cincinnati game is 72 against SEMO (the first game of last year). He deserves a spot on the field, just not as a RB. That is clear.

So, let me show you some more stats...

- Dorceus for the season - 52 carries, 346 yards, 5 TDs. That = 6.7 yards per carry
- Henderson seasons - 17 carries, 119 yards, 1 TD. That = 7.0 yards per carry
- Craft for season - 14 carries, 10 yards, 0 TDs. That = 0.7 yards per carry

Who is the outlier? Who is the exception? Who is not performing at the same level as the others?

Why do you think Dorceus and Henderson got all the carries in the second half and Craft did not? Do you think it is because the staff realized their mistake in the first half. Norvell appears to be a great coach and certainly knows more than me but that does not make him all knowing and infallible. Do you refer to him as Pope Mike Norvell?
