It sure seems that way. The AD needs to put a lid on these insulting statements.

Number of teams that would have at least 3 wins with our schedule? 70-80?

Way to celebrate the ability to beat bad teams. Honestly it's not the record that's bothersome, it's the inability to be competitive for an entire game against competent competition. USF and Houston are the best two teams on the schedule. Those games were going to be challenging, but to see how far we have been passed by programs we were way ahead of 4 years ago is depressing.

The only teams that wish they were 3-2 right now are teams with losing records . Really ,we keep some lofty company

What happened to not being satisfied unless we were competing for conference titles , national rankings and big bowl games (and wins).

Cant the AD see he's got a toxic attitude for a program that always aspired to be "Class of the league"

anyways sorry to take Gantz thread and make it another Tubs bashing but that quote is beyond ridiculous

I would say be patient. It's very possible UC will not have a winning record this year.

Attendance will suffer as the year goes on.

If that happens Bohn may be forced to do something.

Derek Wolfe recently shared with Scott Van Pelt the #DEFWU meme (Don't F**** with us-- although he said fool) that was common several years back in Clifton with the football players. We need to get this attitude back here pronto. We need to regain our swagger.

The thing is nobody is around anymore from the Dantonio, BK or hell the Butch Jones era. Not the players, not the coaches, not the AD, not the university president, not on the BOT, etc. The folks in power right now do not know our journey first hand. They weren't there to witness "The Rise". They weren't there to see how it all transformed this city, awoken the alums and energized the student body.

This athletic department needs an enema from the top down.

RE: Gantz done for the year!
Looks like we don't have a chance at winning the close ones without a competent place kicker. We can expect to miss extra points and field goals for the rest of the season.

Regarding Sniffles' comments, he's being exposed. He's being exposed for the minimum effort huckster he is. He was never focused on growing this program into a perennial contender. When I say "contender", I don't expect to be making the playoff. My main expectation is that we would be in the hunt for the conference championship every year. We're a couple weeks in and we are essentially out. We're a couple weeks in and we're playing the rest of the season for what? Pride? Whoopty do.

Tubs can keep his f*cking participation trophy. I want conference championships.

Do you think that attitude is similar to coach Cronin's quote that the best UC can hope for is to make the tournament every year? (as opposed to an elite 8 or final 4 run?). Seems like a similar sentiment, but without the vitriol from this board aimed at him.

Most people who have played an FCS team, Purdue, and Miami would be livid if they didn't have three wins.

We are 5 weeks into the season and there isn't a "Division 1" win amongst all 3 of the schools we've beaten. Is he kidding? 03-banghead

My hope is that Gantz recovers well. He is obviously a very good kicker and he certainty seems to be the kind of young man we want representing UC.

Mmmm, yeah I can see where you might think that. It's all in how high we're setting the bar. Tubs bar is pretty low. Tubs bar seems to be getting to a bowl game. However, last year "the number of team-competitive (excluding all-star) bowl games increased to 41 (including the College Football Playoff final game which matches two bowl game winners) requiring 80 teams to participate, of which 15 did not have a winning record." I personally think we have WAY to many bowls. I'd like to see just the top 40 teams get invited to bowls at the most. But, money drives everything.

Can you give Mick's quote in context? If his goal is just to get to the tournament (68 teams), then that bar is pretty much just as low as Tubs.

The goal should be to win our conference, hopefully ranked, and make it to the round of 32 every year.

Is it an unreasonable goal for our BBall and Football teams to be in the top 25 more often than not? I sure as heck hope not with the money we're dumping into the programs.

I think the big difference is that our basketball team is generally always competitive. Our goal should definitely be to win the conference and win multiple games in the tourney, but do my knowledge our basketball team isn't losing big, getting run out of our home arena, or putting in a weak effort. Basketball does have room to improve, but it is in a completely different category than our football program.

I think your goal of Top 25 ranking every year is a reasonable and attainable goal. There will be some years we miss in football (unless we are in a P5, in which this should be attainable again), but it is reasonable to expect a semi-successful athletic program to be in the Top 25 more often than not.
