As for this week and this game. I found it hard to believe that a team with Brieda, Ellison, Upshaw, Ramsby, Sapp, etc. could be as advertised. But they were. GaSo fans have some legitimate concerns.

It is pretty amazing to see the running game struggle considering that collection of runners. I mean it takes hard work to screw up that rushing attack.

GaSo's blocking schemes under Fritz and that OL coach were fantastic. At times they created holes a truck could drive through. Now, it's like a complete 180. Missed blocks and the play-calling didn't help.

This. It's not like this was suppose to be some sort of rebuilding year. This was suppose to be our break out year. All of our talent are seniors. We know what they are capable of. We've seen it. But the yellow-bellied coaching staff is not up to the task of leading what once was the best rushing team in the country

I've said it a hundred times never count State out when we get into conference they just know how to win. Congratulations on a big victory. Hey you are not going to the Access bowl doesn't mean you cant go bowling as conference champs. This is no disrespect to GS

Ark St. was playing Tecmo Bowl last night until the last drive. They called four plays and that sweep right was like called the Bo Jackson play every time.

GS now banged up pretty badly as well. Their oline is going to get their QBs killed. GT wins by 20 in 10 days.

Seriously, App State is going to embarrass Southern on its home field. Southern has 2 road games vs Georgia Tech and NMS before App game. I can see us being 3-4.

People will be coming to the stadium just to show their displeasure of this coaching staff. It could get VERY UGLY.

I watched most of this game and saw flashes of brilliance once in a while on both sides. GS showed that they can throw the ball more than I've ever seen them, but looked confused on blocking schemes, Ark State showed some great explosive big plays but turned the ball over every chance they got.
I can't speak for Troy but none of us, APP including has really put together a full game this year. We will all get better hopefully. Unfortunately for GS,I think the conference title comes down to Troy, APP or Ark State.

I've seen some pretty piss poor football played by my team through 5 games.

I knew a team at home with basically the season in the balance was going to be a tough W, but that was atrocious effort in the 4th quarter by our offense.

There are guys on our OL that shouldn't be playing organized football. (I kid, but still)

Congrats stAte! You made the rest of the Belt proud!

Thats how we felt last year mine the best rushing team in the country part.

At the beginning of the season i thought the sunbelt title game would be in Statesboro, Georgia when Troy & Georgia Southern meet but it looks like the title game will at troy this year not sure who is going to be with but its looking like App or Arkansas State.

While, as a fan, I appreciate the kudos to our team I am not ready to proclaim then contenders for the conference title just yet. My gosh, we turned the ball over FIVE times. We were darned lucky to win that game. Eagle fans, hang in there. This stuff goes in cycles. You'll get your mojo back.

After the first quarter which featured a 60+ yard run for a TD, GaSo didn't hit 70 yards rushing in the final three quarters combined.

GS fans: Unfortunately I didn't get to watch the whole game, only the last quarter. Were you guys playing with injured QBs? It looked like both of them were avoiding contact. Just not like them.

If you go look at the week 5 power ranking threads NOT ONE gs fan ranked their team lower than third. I guess those people saying gs had weaknesses forgot to post in that thread lol.

Not ranking us lower than third speaks to how pathetic teams like TXST are. We knew we were bad just didnt think we were as pathetic as TXST. Honestly how do you get to the point where you are ok with talking crap when your program is a worse dumpster fire?

Lot of respect going out to GaSt posters for not sinking as low as the low life TXST fans. There are two teams that can talk crap legitimately in this conference that is App and Troy. The rest of you are in the same **** boat as us or worse. I have yet to even click on a TXST game thread due to lack of interest and pretty much knowing the outcome before it started.

First time I saw either team play this year and I now understand why both fanbases are frustrated. I saw where stAte has been mentioned as possible SunBelt title contender. Sorry, but I don't see that happening. I think everyone can agree that Troy is up there. App has a shot, but I think S. Alabama has an outside shot as well. But we'll know more about S. Alabama and stAte's fate after the matchup coming up next week.

IMO had they approached the first four games like they did this one, they would most likely be 3-2 right now, and maybe 4-1, and they would not be pressing so hard.

What saved them in this one was Anderson lost control of the narrative after the embarrassing loss to UCA.

Troy won or shared 1/3rd of every football championship awarded in this conference. AState the same.
