Honestly I don't care what Tubby recruited for 2016. My eye will be on style of play and strategy this season. And generally getting me back excited about Tiger basketball in general.

So you would rather watch bad to mediocre players play decent than good to really good players play bad to mediocre?

What kind of dumb A$$ question is that? I think you're fishing in the wrong pond. 07-coffee3

Not dumb ass-please fricking read. The poster said "Honestly I don't care what Tubby recruited for 2016."

Did you like the way the last 3 years ended with all that "talent" under Pastner?

I can read just fine, it's your question that's dumb.

"So you would rather watch bad to mediocre players play decent than good to really good players play bad to mediocre"?

Reread your question and just think about it. 07-coffee3

LMFAO.......... I will answer your question if you answer this: What did we just watch under CJP......in your opinion???

Then decipher this: I would rather watch anything other than that.....

Nah, he hates everything, but I think even Mikey . . . uh . . . Penny Lane will like the change we're about to see.

A below average bench coach who did not have about a third of his players respect but a very good recruiter for 4-5 years off the Memphis Brand Cal built up. Very good record, made tourney 5 times (trying to wean myself off Google-memory killer). Didn't do much when he got there. Two horrible under seeds hurt Pastner though.

If I had to guess (based mostly on his recruiting history and results thus far), I would say it be 3 years before Tubby has us in tourney. Going to kill attendance and BB revenue will drop over $10M from last year to that 3rd year. Tubby is not a PR guy to put fans in the seat while losing.

Hope I'm wrong because while FB is holding our attention right now, wait until Jan/Feb when the wolves come after Tubby on this board. I like him. He had an upbringing similar to my Grand Parents and I really empathize with him and want to like him so much and see him go out with an elite 8 or better and call Memphis his home school.

Anybody, just about, is better than what we had!! Was I excited about the Tubby hire? No.. He can definitely coach but he and his staff are not good recruiters and I believe that's the reason no big time programs have gone after him.. He can Coach no doubt, but it will take him a while with kids in his system to develop because he isn't going to get the 4 and 5 star guys unless they are locals wanting to play here.. But he is definitely better than Pastner and I'll watch us play again!!

Hmm. 3 stars recruited for a system, vs 5 stars misused and underachieving until they transfer.

Yes, please.

Why don't we give the guy some time to do just that. He's off to a nice start for next year already.

I mean, the guy hasn't even coached a game yet.

I think his 2017 recruiting is damn good. I could care less about star rating, just results! Pastner signed some high level recruits, but not one sweet sixteen. In the end, he couldn't even make the NIT. He was having real problems getting high level recruits or keeping them from transferring. The program was in real trouble.

I don't think we'll be a great team next year. We've got some good players, but too many holes. He's hitting it hard for 2017 recruits and is having excellent results. I'm totally stoked about our future!

Tubbys presser made it sound like he was thinking this big karim kid could play this year...

The apathy for this basketball program is palpable. And a lot of people haven't realized it yet. Josh killed and buried it.

I don't think so. Look at this board. Look at the media in Memphis. It's not apathetic.

No. It's not apathetic. It's still football season. This is the way it is SUPPOSED to be. Reserve your opinion of whether or not it is apathy until January.
