Amazing what a long term, highly successful basketball program can do for a school and its athletic program.

Wow......is this what happens when a city loves and supports it's own eponymous university?

Maybe the NFL should expand to L'ville? Why not?

Suites are obviously helping fund a big portion of this project, they're everywhere!

Having gobs of corporate money and ACC money is more valuable to Louisville than city love and support (whatever that means).

As stated in a previous post the basketball program sets the table for all things at UL. UL has VERY highly rated football, baseball, volleyball, women's basketball, golf and other athletic teams.

They've done it right

Keep is owned by an Italian company. It is not a Toledo Company

Buts in the seats is the problem. Too much of town distracted by nuts and rodents

It ought to be Corning. Specialty glass, ceramic, optics, etc. It's a natural.
Superstar Company-Superstar Rockets. Glass Bowl. It would be a great tie for the research side of the University.

RE: OT: Louisville's $55 million dollar stadium expansion
LOL, Let's Compare

Louisville, Kentucky: Gross Metro Product value of $63.3 Billion vs Toledo's $
31.9 Billion
Population of Louisville metro area is 1.2 million vs Toledo's 607,000
Median Household income of Louisville is $53,000 vs $44,000 in Toledo
Number of major colleges in Kentucky to compete with is 1?.
Number of major colleges near Toledo is 2, which happen to be 2 of the largest and most popular collegiate sports programs in the nation.
Number or Major Professional Sports Teams in Kentucky is 0.
Ohio has 2 NFL Teams, 1 NBA Team, and 2 MLB teams. Not to mention Detroit's sports teams

Those are the main reasons that Louisville can have a $55 million dollar expansion and Toledo cannot. Toledo does not have the money, population base, or area interest to produce that kind of money and support.

Besides Owen-Corning, add Owens-Illinois, Libbey Glass, and Libbey Owens Ford - all glass companies. We are the "Glass Capital Of the World". And the FB team plays in the Glass Bowl. Each of these companies spend lots of money on research. Maybe UT could help here with federal grants. Maybe Pres. Gaber is working on this. (Hint, Hint)

Well, let's see the BB team has been put on probation multiple times over multiple decades. And more recently they apparently had so much money that they didn't know what to do with, someone decided it would be a great idea to spend it on prostitutes for the recruits. Most recently the Kentucky Attorney General has said the school broke the law in not turning over records requested in the latest basketball scandal.

Not sure that it the program UT should seek to emulate.

Corning, Inc. has about twice the revenues of Owen Corning and is a real
dynamic organization.

I just had another thought on Toledo area concerns with money to spend. How about "Promedica Field" in the Glass Bowl? How much should the naming rights cost?
