He's looking for something a bit less stressful than his current (or past) positions, where he can achieve a good work-life balance. He hopes to put out some feelers this fall, before beginning to search in earnest once his current job isn't as busy (the end of November, in all likelihood). There are a few "companies" in good locations that might fit what's he's looking for - the Grand Strand (near Conway, SC), Gulf Shores (Moblie area), and Boca Raton. Oh, and he's a golfer. He really likes to golf. Have any of you played the courses in these areas?
I hear Lubbock has some nice courses.

Does he have the opportunity to delegate? Nothing too hands on.
Oh, I totally agree. That is why angling for the comptroller position is so vitally important. It sounds really accomplished but at an obscure agency nobody really knows what the position entails (or why they even have one) so you get to walk around and look important without all of that mind-numbing busy work. Plus, the fact that you give off an air of knowing important stuff that other people don't despite your obvious limitations provides a certain level of long term job security - people will think that you have a brother in law or fraternity brother who is a senator on the appropriations committee.

Maybe your friend can sign with WWE. The open-handed slap is an art form in that organization, and it sounds looks your friend already has a persona developed for his foray into professional entertainment.
