Problem is, we are poor and don't have the money to buy out the coaches or pay a new OC the type of money the job calls for. We'll be everyone's homecoming game for a few years to come. Just sad.

Too bad you can't be like our "sister" school to the "north", Mussussuppi State, who have also just recently lost their QB of the century...have no SEC football championship since 1941... get drilled in front of a half empty stadium by Auburn...and in return get rewarded with TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars from their successful conference brethren to ease the pain and help you start over..03-banghead

Since we are all members of the NCAA, shouldn't a more level playing field be set up?

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah 04-cheers

how many pick 6 does Litton have? Seems like every game when I scroll the play by play feed I see one. I'm going to be honest, I wasn't real impressed with the kid last year. Mostly based off his reaction in the Western game. When something goes wrong he seems to pout and hang his head. Young players do that sometimes. But based on that he wasn't a QB I was high on.

One more question....

which is the biggest concern right now, defense or offense?

First let me congratulate North Texas on last nights win. I'm glad to see some of last years programs like North Texas, ODU, UTSA start to show some life. It's a great thing for our conference, and hopefully this evoles into a much more competitive and lively conference in 2017.

To address your question WKUYG, the problems Marshall is having right now all stem from coaching.

While Doc and his staff have garnered countless top recruiting classes, attrition and a lack of talent on our offensive line are killing us this year. Because of this, our coaching philosophy has regressed.

We have a line that can't run or pass block.

We have a QB that lacks vision, creativity, and stares down receivers.

We don't necessarily need a RB1, but there's clearly no one taking charge there.

Michael Clark, our best WR is very very raw, and is having trouble running routes.

We lack a possession WR.

Our TE's are really just H back possession types, so we lack perimeter and goal line blocking.

We have gutless coaching that would rather routinely punt on the oponents 40 than go for it on 4th and 2 and the like. No aggression what so ever.

IMHO, we have regressed the most on offense based on lack of coaching and proper recruiting. The only hope is that we can clean up mistakes and into next offseason bring in a new offensive coordinator who can instill a more effective quick strike attack.

It's not even that Clark has trouble running routes, it's that he's 6-7 so his route tree is naturally limited due to his size. It's hard to get low and get in and out of quick breaks when you're that tall because sinking your hips is a chore. Big guys like that always have stiff hips so just off of his natural size his route tree is cut in half. Then you factor in the fact that he hasn't played organized football since he was in the 9th grade and you have a big body receiver who has some great ball skills but is working realistically with three routes. Post, Streak, and Fade. His big frame would be great for quick slants and because he could use it and his BBall background to box out corners, but we don't have a quick slant in our playbook.

I was exaggerating for effect.. I was being a smart ass because we so rarely do it even in situations like Saturday where the slant wold have been a good way to counter their blitzing.

Foster looked like he could be a more athletic Tommy Shuler as a freshman. Got off to a rocky start with drops as a sophomore before being a serviceable running back after being forced to that position due to injuries and to Butler being a gay bashing moron.

But, it's clear he's fallen way behind the other backs we have as he's gotten 0 opportunities to carry the ball the last two weeks. He's too good of an athlete to not be seeing the field. I heard we were attempting to move him to CB. Idk about that move, it's such an unknown on what he can bring to that position. Idk what the answer is. Josh Knight has been pretty good this year when utilized, the problem is the tight ends nor the slot are being utilized near enough.
