Yeah, no sh!t. I cannot believe they just didn't miss it, but REVERSED IT -- said he hit his shoulder pad [only], when he sliced over hitting his pad and smacked his helmet with his own.

What a crock! It'd be like a guy catching a ball with one foot in and one foot out at the same time when landing, where it was ruled incomplete... then reversing it saying he "had a foot inbounds".

Makes you think, doesn't it? I hope the offending player has to sit this week. Football gets people killed when dumbasses like him don't follow the rules.

This is a relatively new rule.

The field refs called targeting. That is what they saw and called.

Here is my question. In the fullness of time, an extraneous thought enters the review refs mind. He thinks to himself, dang, the Chips best safety iss out, this guy is their only replacement. The Chips are under pressure, if we toss this guy the game is over. I can't do that. So he calls the field guys and says it was a shoulder it with incidental contact. End of story.

I have no idea if this sort of thinking would ever occur in the MAC? Seriously.

But I can't imagine anyone viewing the tape not seeing targeting, strictly interpreted.
