I didn't think so. I was thinking 16k based on watching the video stream. Chad Bishop tweeted that he estimated 18k would be announced. There was coverage across the stadium, but a lot of empty seats between people and not as many students as usual.

thanks. maybe hilltopper's answer is to downsize every stadium to 10,000 people. that way CUSA MAY have sell outs 100% of the time. this conference is a joke. 2-3 decent programs in it.

ODU 2015 Ticket Sales from just football - 2.56 million
USM 2015 Ticket Sales from ALL SPORTS - 2.28 million

USM fans need to put their money where their mouth is. Talk is cheap.

If you go to the Week 4 Attendance thread, you'll see that everyone asked for percentages instead of straight numbers. I'm just here to serve ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All that matters is butts in seats. Hell, if our stadium only had 20K, we'd have sold out every game since the damn thing opened in '91. Based on tix sold.

I'll call bull****, you've had several games below that in the last few years.

It started on the MAC forum. The percentage stat is used by posters whose school have very small stadiums.

Ironically, it was another USM fan that requested it in Week 4:

Please keep this thread civil! Thanks!

Week Four Attendance:
40,592 - Marshall University - vs #3 Louisville
23,674 - Western Kentucky - vs Vanderbilt
21,419 - Texas El Paso - vs Southern Miss
20,792 - Rice University - vs North Texas
20,118 - Old Dominion - vs UTSA
20,105 - Middle Tennessee - vs Louisiana Tech
18,524 - Florida International - vs UCF
13,846 - Florida Atlantic - vs Ball State

Average Attendance to Date:
30,446 - Marshall
29,810 - Texas El Paso
28,707 - Southern Miss
25,708 - Texas San Antonio
23,920 - Rice University
22,586 - CONFERENCE USA AVERAGE
21,480 - Western Kentucky
20,164 - North Texas
20,118 - Old Dominion
20,036 - Middle Tennessee
18,278 - Florida International
16,910 - Louisiana Tech
15,444 - Charlotte
14,366 - Florida Atlantic

Any way that someone could compile these figures as a "percentage of capacity"? I feel like some of the smaller stadiums (i.e. Charlotte or ODU) get hosed by demonstrating just attendance figures. Might be interesting to compare as well.

Didn't know requesting a simple comparative analytical calculation would be such a problem... sheesh...

Not in "announced tickets sold attendance" we haven't which is what he's talking about, and why he said only butts in the seats should matter.

The announced attendance was like 18k for the ODU game last year.

Not tix sold. Maybe actual butts in seats. You can't tell me ODU has had every seat occupied for every home game the last several years? Come on.

Not at all, I'm saying Marshall hasn't sold 20K+ seats for every game or else they would have announced it that way. There's always going to be someone who has tickets that don't get used therefore the tickets sold figure will always be the higher number.

The percentages show how awful attendance is across the board. 82% of capacity was the closest to full any CUSA stadium was this weekend? That's pretty sad.
