These are the best Eagle uniforms we've ever had:

A recent grad who was working as a graphic designer with EMU atheltics (hired by the Lions a few months ago) made this privately. Blending the Huron identity into the Eagle mascot is a good idea.

I don't think it'll ever happen.

I love this a unique look honoring emu a good way to heal the alum factions love to see this happen

We were so creative we had to rip off an NFL team's look.

Those were dark days.

Here's a bit of trivia. U of M's winged helmet is not an original. I always thought that coach Fritz Crisler brought it with him from Princeton. But this site says that even OSU and Michigan State used it before uofm along with other schools.

Eh....

In the 70s, we ripped off the Packers.
In the early 90s, we ripped off the Philadelphia Eagles helmets.
Then, obviously, we stole the Jets unis in the early 2000s.

I would have liked to see us work a little harder to establish our own identity, like we're doing currently.

These throwbacks, imo, celebrate the worst jerseys we've ever worn. But that's a matter of personal taste I suppose.

I can top that. We're the EAGLES! That nickname must be used by hundreds or thousands of grade schools, HSs and colleges. We're not even the first one. There were the Eastern Eagles in PA and the Eastern Washington Eagles.

I like the color scheme of the jersey's and the helmet. Not too big a fan of the logo on the helmet, but maybe that's just because I hate the jets haha[/align]

Dear ljmhurons,
You are correct. The reason many schools had that look was because of the way the leather helmets were constructed. They were constructed with the winged design as part of the helmet. Therefore it lent itself to the paint concept that we see today on U-M's helmets.

More trivia: Bo Schembechler wanted to get rid of the winged helmet, but they set him straight.

For those on Twitter here is a Tweet with our unis this year.

I 'voted' my preferences in my reply.

I liked #1 and #3, home and away. Love the green helmets.
