we are kind of dinged up. I was at the game. Maddie looked like a QB, acted liked a QB, and played like a QB. Could not understand why we did not go 4th and 1 in the 1 Q near their 30 yd line but did a fake punt on 4th and long at the 50. Ball screwed up time at the end of the 1st half. Not sure what they were thinking. They sat on clock and could have run 2 plays. then with 10 seconds left tried a 50 yarder. Also, on D we appeared to use more non standard
blitzes. And Maddie in the effort to be a WR looks like he bulked. The Kid did good

If Turner gets healthy at some point, this could become a very good offensive team.

I didn't mind the fake at all. Everyone here has been complaining about us not trying any. They don't always work, so be it. Trying one sets an aggressive tone.

Not going for it on fourth and one after trying a deep shot was weird but I'm so happy with the win I don't care about that either.

My biggest disappointment was the extreme conservative play calling inside the BSU 35 on most drives and not being able or really desiring to score touchdowns. That might be OK against a 90th ranked BSU team, but sure wont keep you in the game against a top 25 team in the Broncos.

Doing a fake and 4th and 4 I could see. 4th and 10? Too much of a long shot for me.

I'm guessing the coaching staff was hoping BSU was thinking just like you and wouldn't be ready. Still, I agree, I didn't love it...whatever we thought we were going to catch them on, we were very very wrong, which is the bigger problem I have with it. It wasn't close to working.

Golladay pass off jet sweep is an awesome play. We need to give G the option to keep the safeties honest and give us more running room.
