Turnovers
We need to force more turnovers on defense. I wouldn't be surprised if we rank bottom 5 of all teams for turnovers recovered. What do we have -- 2 INTs and 1 fumble recovery in five games?

RE: Turnovers
Came close to having a couple more picks today. One problem is we rarely pressure opposing QBs

I'll check after I sober up. We just broke a 7 game losing streak and put 653 yards up.

RE: Turnovers
We do need to improve the turnover margin. We are usually is the plus in turnover margin and that seems to be a big difference this year.

Best positive of the D today was we finally got some good pressure on the QB.

Neal wasn't a good runner. I have a feeling Terrell will bust some big runs on us. Heck they'll probably have 400 yards rushing...

653 yrds? and we only scored 31. That is not efficenct.

Offense can't help the 2 missed FGs so it should have been 37
Without the pick it's probably 44. Really want to see how they do vs WMU next week

Agreed. Between the missed FGs, red zone INT that looked like Maddie / Galloday not on the same page which isn't surprising given the short time Maddie has been back at QB, this game wasn't far from a 3 TD win. We only punted twice to Ball State's 7 punts and ran all over the Ball State defense which was giving up less than 100 yards/game on the ground.
We may be 1-4, but also aren't far from 4-1. If we bring the offense we had today, get some stops on defense, and win the turnover battle, no reason we can't win next week. If we come out like we did against South Florida, SDSU, and Western Illinois, it could get ugly. But I don't see that happening, this Huskie team seems to be putting some defense together, and the Anthony Maddie offense seems like the second coming of Jordan Lynch.

RE: Turnovers
Maddie got all his rushing yards on scrambles. He got nothing on the designed QB runs. I'll be happy if they never call a QB run.

Worried about the defense against WMU not the offense.

Terrell's kryptonite (aka Smalls) not being in the game hurts too.

Your quote: " Maddie got "All" his rushing yards on scrambles."
I'll abide with any 3rd part ruling.

Did you miss the 75 yard TD run? That was clearly a QB draw.

Whoa, Maddie had a great game, but comparing him to Lynch is a bit of a reach. Lynch was certainaly not Dan Marino, but he wasn't nearly as inaccurate as Maddie. I'm giddie with how much better Maddie is than Graham, but comparing him to Lynch is like comparing my posts to Ernest Hemingway.

Lynch averaged about 61% completion rate his 2 years of starting. As of now, Maddie is averaging higher than that. Lynch's difference was that he was a monster in the running game. Maddie won't match that but he doesn't have to if he keeps throwing well, and he does provide some punch running the ball.

RE: Turnovers
Comparing two years of a completion percentage to approximately two games isn't much of a comparison. Let's take a look after another few games. I may end up being wrong, but just watching Maddie he appears to be considerably inaccurate.
