Projected point spreads against the current Top 25
Serious insomnia going on here, so since I currently literally have nothing better to do I decided just for fun I would make an opening betting line for WMU against all current AP Top 25 teams, as well as some other teams of interest. (assuming the games were held this coming weekend.)

These are strictly for fun and really just meant to stimulate conversation. I bet on sports a lot but I'm far from an expert bookmaker... All spreads assume a game played on a NEUTRAL field.

EDIT: Second number listed is the projected game total.

I guarantee I'm WAY off on some of these. Again, strictly for entertainment...

All comments/criticisms are welcome.

Alabama +17 54
Ohio State +19 56.5
Clemson +15 51
Michigan +13 53.5
Washington +14.5 58
Houston +10 66.5
Louisville* +21 69
Texas A&M +11 52
Tennessee +13.5 54
Miami (FL) +9.5 51
Wisconsin +10.5 45.5
Ole Miss +14.5 62
Stanford +8.5 47
Nebraska +10 57
Baylor +12.5 68
Arkansas +6.5 49.5
North Carolina +4.5 64
Florida +7 48
Boise State +3 55
Oklahoma +9 61.5
Colorado +5.5 58
West Virginia PICK 55.5
Florida State +7 65.5
Utah +4 51
Virginia Tech -2.5 50.5

*-Louisville, despite their #7 ranking and the loss to Clemson, is still my best team in the country and my favorite to win the playoff.

Other teams of interest:

Michigan State +1 46
Notre Dame PICK 67
Indiana -5 58
North Dakota St -1 48
USC +2 55.5
Vanderbilt** -7 44
Kansas*** -20 54
Rice^ -28 57

**-I figured I would throw Vandy in since there's been so much talk on this board lately about them.
***-My current bottom-ranked P5 team
^-My current bottom-ranked G5 team.

Good luck with that. Clemson won, and they share the same division. Clemson will have to have 2 conference losses for Louisville to even go to the ACC Championship game, let alone a playoff spot.

Fair point. I forgot they were in the same division... 03-banghead

I still suspect though that the Big 12, Pac 12 and SEC are sufficiently down enough this year that the ACC might get 2 teams in. Louisville needs serious style points the rest of the way in order for that to happen.

From the same conference? I highly doubt that. I could see #1 and #2 of the same conference playing each other undefeated in their Conf Championship and one losing in a barn-burner and still going to the playoff spot when the other conferences aren't so impressive, and #1 & #2 were seen as solidly better than #3,4,5.

But here's the rub: An undefeated B1G, SEC, or P12 team is Not going to get nixed. The 4-team playoff already nixes 1 P5 conf champ out of the equation... so you'd basically need to nix *2* P5 conf champs out of the playoff equation. Good luck with that. :)
