We had 653 yards - need more points off that many yards. The D had some good series and some really bad. I still say we need some major adjustments on the D!

Great to have a win going into the boat rowers next week. With some momentum and the way they played today, the team will be competitive. Secondary MUST improve to have a chance next week. Ball state WR had a few of our guys beat and they missed them. Zach Terrell won't miss those open shots.

There's no doubt. This D is not good, the hope is that it can find it's way to be average. If we can get Cheren back, get a little healthier in the secondary, it would help get closer to average.

Yes, that was impressive. Very impressive.

I thought Maddie played great. I thought he played pretty well when he was fighting with Hare for the job 2 years ago. Oh well, I'm glad he has a chance to do some good for NIU in his last year.

Great to get a win on the road, 1-0 in conference, hopefully gives our guys a big boost, they work hard and that is easy to forget about when you struggle as they have.

Today reminded me of the offense almost when we had JL. He's a smooth runner and the worst play he made of the day was the endzone pick. Not sure if that was on him or if Kenny didn't cut when he was supposed too. Either way he played ******* awesome.

And for the record a lot of the decisions today prove that Carey is still not a good coach.

I know we won and Bouagnon ran for over 100 yards but Carey's got to be blind if he doesn't see that Huff would've had 300 against these bums. I don't get it. Huff should be featured back. This should've been an easy win. What the hell is going on?

I never heard about what really happened. Was it just Maddie saw the writing on the wall that PJ did not want that kind of QB - offense?

I always feel like Huff would get more yards even when JB breaks one. That one run up the middle by JB was great; their defense was gassed and that is a good time for a big back. I have said for over a year that there is a time and place for JB, but he should not be our feature back, We need that explosive back like Huff to go along with Maddie/Kenny G.

Don't get me wrong, its nice to win but this team still plays incredibly sloppy, albeit somewhat improved on offense under Maddie. BSU isn't that good, probably a 6-6 or 7-5 team this season. If we have three turnovers and missed FG's gainst CMU, WMU, and Toledo they'll punish us severely.

This. Didn't seem like as bad of penalties tho as weeks prior. The one chop block on on our line and ACRB was a garbage call by the refs.
