They may not this week but they are well on their way. This was a flat out statement game. I just don't see them losing a game through the MACC. The problem I see coming is Houston. Would a 1 loss Houston team get a New Years slot over an undefeated Bronco team? Or does WMU need Houston to run the table and get in the playoff 4?

Houston already has a marquee win over Florida State this season. Plus they still have Louisville left. If they stumble somewhere, they will still be higher than WMU, (with marquee wins over Northwestern and Illinois) Also if Houston makes the playoff, the access bowl spot goes away for any other G5 team.

Houston could stumble in the the championship game against USF.

Florida State went down with another loss today but they didn't play FSU. They played and beat Oklahoma.

San Diego State is about to go down to South Alabama.

Why they were ranked so high in the Top 20 I do not understand.

Boise has to play BYU and probably takes an L there.

No, MAC teams get no love. You need to beat UNH, Cal, and NIU like SDSU because that's so much more impressive than beating two Big Ten teams on the road.

No clue either, I said the same thing on the NIU board two weeks ago after they beat us. Their RB is good but their QB is below average.

Northwestern was preseason #3 in the B1G West, meaning a projected 8 win B1G team.

Based on what WMU has done they belong in the Top 20.

Agreed, the human polling is way way way out of whack right now to where WMU should be. It will be interesting to see to what extent that corrects itself in the polls tomorrow.

After seeing how many lower half ranked teams lost, WMU may climb in. Florida State, Georgia, San Diego State, TCU, Texas and Utah all lost.

That league is a total disaster. CUSA needs to dissolve and those schools need to be absorbed into leagues that make geographical sense. They have few if any historical rivalries (WKU-MTSU exception) and based on geography and the constant change in the membership are not likely to form any. This league is filled with a bunch of homeless that are just wandering the streets looking for a place to lay their heads. CUSA is that homeless shelter. The MAC could absorb a couple but it's the Sun Belt that makes the most sense when you look at its footprint. Only Marshall, WKU and maybe MTSU could actually be natural fits for the MAC. They don't expand the footprint too much and make sense from a size, budget and competitive stand point.

#17 MSU also lost at Indiana and will be out of the Top 25.

Northwestern was Pre-Season pick for FOURTH in Big Ten-West (weaker of the two divisions), not third.

Being ranked and fifty cents will get you a cup of coffee. Only poll that matters anyway is in January.

And being ranked without a MACC trophy means less than the cup of coffee.

Marshall can go screw themselves with a rusty spork.
