RE: UT at BYU game thread
There is no such thing as a "good" loss, but this was not a "terrible" loss in sense that our November losses were last year------last year the Rockets had a very good shot at the access bowl going into conference play but this year the stars were not aligned for an access bowl invitation even if the Rockets had beaten BYU.

The only thing the loss did is make it much, much more difficult for the Rockets to see the top 25 this year. A MAC Championship and a bowl bid are still both very much on the table, and this just may be the first year since 2004 that the Rockets get over that hump.

This was one of those exciting games where the last team with the ball was going to win and that is exactly how it played out. Tonight at times (most of the time actually) our defense looked the way I was afraid it would look prior to the start of the season----they lost a lot of experience at lot of positions----but they probably will not see another offense of that caliber for the rest of the year.

The Rocket offense looked extremely good even with 2 turnovers and a couple costly penalties---except for a few lapses they really executed well and were really formidable. I think that Woodside used the year off to really elevate his game.

We also gave up more points to BYU than those others. Offense wasn't the problem for either team tonight. Both Ds had significant weaknesses that were exploited.

Defense will be the key from here on out...if we want to win the MAC, tonight's game can't be repeated. I'm hoping the elevation was a contributing factor as much as the size of byu's offense.

Tough loss, Rockets. A lot of us Broncos were pulling for you. Pretty wild game. Reminded me of that wild one between UT and WMU a few years back where the team with the ball last would win.

Looking forward to our meeting on black Friday. Best of luck until then.
