Dang. That guy has been awesome so far this year. Do you know the extent of the injury?

I do not, they didn't exaggerate on the pregame show. Hopefully not serious

RE: Official Game Thread: Wofford
Bucs played without Nasir Player and Joe Pittman today but we were still out manned. I always want the Bucs to win but we are a second year team and if we were competing with the top tier teams in the SoCon then something is wrong with the conference. We are building in the right direction and should be more competitive next season.

You're right. Still hard to take such a beating, but I still believe we are doing better than most expected.

Hate to lose those 2 guys, 2 of our best defenders no doubt.

The offensive line did so well last week but Wofford's defensive line is one of the best in the nation and manhandled them. You could tell we are a second year team on both sides of the ball with the linesmen play.

Wofford's lines were impressive. I would be surprised if the Terriers don't compete for the SoCon title this season. Hats off to them. I still say we will have a chance to beat Furman and VMI.

I also enjoyed watching Wofford, they play my favorite style of football which is becoming extinct.

If we can win either VMI or Furman, we probably go 5-6 for the season. Personally, I think Furman is likely to win the rest of their games, but it would be awesome to beat them at home.

Didn't really get to watch much of the game. Discouraging to see only 86 total yards on offense. So it appears that Western Carolina and Wofford are in two totally different tiers?

Yes looking at it with the first glance and it indeed looks like two different tiers. I think Citadel and UTC are in that tier as well of course. It will be an interesting season. In perspective, Bucs have already won two games the "shouldn't have." I think this year will really prepare us to be truly competitive next season.

Didn't see a down of it, based on the stats, that was tough. You know what though, it's a second year program, there's going to be growing pains.
Line up and play again next week, I still believe they can get to five wins, maybe six if they can snipe Furman or Mercer.

RE: Official Game Thread: Wofford
Wofford didn't do anything fancy on offense. They basically just had a huge advantage in the trenches and were able to pound it for 4-8 yards every down and then would break a big one every once in awhile.

Out offense unfortunately kind of looked like last year where we had trouble blocking anyone and our backs would get hit as soon as they got the ball and our QB didnt have time to throw. Even when he did have time their secondary did a good job.

Against a team like Wofford and this week against Chatt, ETSU will need the other team to make some mistakes if they want to have a shot. I still like what they have done so far and still think 4-5 wins would be a great season.

I made it over to the game. I sat up high in the shade just under the press box sporting my normal binoculars taking it all in. What was very evident: First, there seemed to be a rash of players going down with injuries or heat cramps (it was brutal). I saw more people under the shade trees than in the stands! Two: What happened to the Bucs receivers? It looked like none of them wanted the ball. When the QB did have time to pass, there were many opportunities where the WRs/TEs/RBs let the ball go straight through their hands. People on my side gasped at how wide open Buc got, but relaxed when they saw nobody fighting for it. Two incompletions that stood out: #4 open early in the game on a deep middle route. The QB delivered the ball perfect, but the bucs came up empty. Also #11 looked like he trotted down the sideline and didn’t play the ball at all in second half. Nobody seemed to want it. You are not going to make plays in the running game against WC this year, they are a very sound team against the run. However, the WC secondary is very average at best. Big plays were left out there - I felt bad for the QB. Hopefully they will put it together next week. I'll be at the SC Texas A&M game. It's good to be retired! Keep me posted and Good Luck!
