Reckling is an amazing place to watch a baseball game. Improvements are currently being planned to upgrade the facility. In my opinion, Reckling is head and shoulders above 95% of college baseball parks.

+1000. Enhancements have already been largely funded and fully approved, and will be phased in over the next 3 years. I've been to one-third of the parks identified in that poll (of coaches), and I'd take Reckling in it's current form over most of them. Just one example-- LSU's Alex Box holds 11,000 and has a great atmosphere with it's sold out partisan crowd, but as a ball park, I prefer the design and accessibility of Reckling. I'll also bet the poll was very heavily weighted with SEC, ACC and Pac-12 coaches.

Since I can't access, did any C-USA or smaller conference schools make the list?

Yes, a couple.

At Alex Box, I find it hard to separate the atmosphere from the ballpark itself. The ballpark feels like a nice minor league ballpark, even with its concessions.

The fact that Alex Box upgraded, and still has bullpens on the playing field should take it out of the running.

Yeah, they certainly took Anthony Rendon out of the running.

I don't know if fan energy is a criterion, but we have been lagging in that category for years...

Even if Reckling is #26, that places it above 91% of college baseball parks. Who cares about others' opinions? It's a great facility, and, along with tennis, better than at most P5 schools.

It used to be that a regular season game at Reckling always had a decent crowd--at least 70% full, if not more. Lately, the crowds seemed to average under 50%.

I'm curious if my estimates are consistent with others' here.

The median crowd is a lot lot LOT less than 50% of capacity. And it terms of crowd energy, it feels even smaller.

I agree. From its opening until roughly 2009 the crowds were always lively. The decline in energy has been particularly sharp the last four or five years.

We actually came in at #30.

It seems to get worse every year.

Yes, but surely I was complaining about it before then, no? :)
