Agreed. No blaming at all of Rice athletic department.

RE: No Broadcast for USM Game
Talk about being bush league! Wow, USM can't scrape say $6k to man the cameras and controls!!?? No respect for their fans and/or Rice fans.

The usual excuse for blackouts (wait till game is sold out) will probably never apply, so USM may as well say that they will not stream any football games.

I am surprised that C-USA (and Rice) allow them to get away with this. I, like others here, subscribed to "Owlvision" under the promise that x, y, & z games (including USM) were going to be streamed. Let's claim for USM to reimburse us (all C-USA "TV" subscribers") say $20k....

Another reason for abandoning the C-USA ship...

RE: No Broadcast for USM Game
My guess is that 99% of So. Miss fans live in driving distance of Hattiesburg. The weakest two games on schedule are/were Savannah St. and Rice. Neither opponent is/was going to travel and they want/need butts in seats and not cannibalize the potential $ for choosing to watch it on a stream.

Heck, I decided at last minute to watch N. Texas online vs. drive to game. I probably would have made a different choice and drove to game if I did not have the option. Rice has many more people outside of Houston so it makes sense to stream games whereas USM is very regional. It is a logical choice for them to not spend the extra $ in production expense while simultaneously lose the incremental revenue they are going to get via fans attending live vs. watching at home.

Bad for us and the very small subset of USM fans outside of Mississippi. But right biz decision for them when you only have one option this weekend to see the game and that is get in your car and go to it.

My main complaint is that it was listed as an online game up until a few days ago and this service offers monthly and yearly packages. False advertising.

No respect.

RE: No Broadcast for USM Game
In this day and age, no video stream is BUSH LEAGUE at best. Last week I watched my former school, Southwestern University, who is DIVISION III for goodness sake, play AT Wisconsin River Falls on a stream. Conference USA can't even match that??????
Unfreakingbelieveable

Maybe I am exaggerating--- the cost may be even less: USM may already be manning the cameras and controls since these games may require replay for reviews. Just stream and synchronize with JP Heath!
So, yes a business decision (albeit violating a contractual obligation?), but then, as I said, based on that criteria (available seats at the stadium), USM will probably not stream any games.

In some ways, thanks to USM, I didn't have to claw my eyes out last night.

No respect.

I will accept "Rice Puddin'" as flattery from a lovely, sweet southern miss.
