According to the article, OU's president (who has been the biggest cheerleader for expansion) is now opposed. He's chairman of the Big 12 Board of Directors and holds a good bit of influence. If the report is true, it would seem the likelihood of Big 12 expansion is significantly less which would be a good thing for UAB.

There has also been renewed talk of consolidation - possibly happening sooner than people originally thought. I would not be surprised if the Pac12 invites pissed-off Houston and BYU and grabs the best available candidates...

At 4:20 the story was updated with a statement from Oklahoma' President refuting that he has made a decision.
