It is important that the Rockets win. It is important for the program. It is important for our city. It is important for Rocket fans everywhere.

Wins are important. But coming out of it healthy for a conference season is equally important. No championships in how long????

Got to win this one, think nationally, at the same time don't stumble at home to a MAC team like they did last season to NIU and Western.

So true. Both WMU & Toledo are licking their chops at NIU. CMU's the only team that can beat them on a regular basis.

I think BYU opening as the favorite is definitely deserved.
We have not played anyone with a speck of talent yet.

NIWHO?

They ain't poop.

Their brief run of winning season is just a blip on landscape of their historical mediocrity and otherwise downright sucktitude.

Well the outcome of the BYU game has no direct bearing on the access bowl this year because unlike last year at this point in the season where the Rockets had a clear path had they take care of business in November, this year the table isn't set for Toledo to get there regardless of how good they are or what they do. Neither does the BYU game have any direct bearing on a MAC Championship......but that does not mean that a win is not important.

The Rockets have not really been tested yet this year so if nothing else this game will say a lot about exactly how good the team really is this year which may give some indication of their chances for a MACC this year (although it turns out that Arkansas wasn't much of an indication last year). Also if the Rockets hope to crack the top 25 polls this year this will be important game to win.

Avoid a few mistakes and catch a few breaks and BYU could easily be 4-0 and ranked somewhere in the top 20 in the polls. As it is they are 1-3 with their backs against the wall in a "must win" situation playing at home and I suspect that the Rockets are going to get their "A " game, which means that if the Rockets are able to win they will have proved themselves to be a very, very good team indeed.

At least the Rockets haven't really had to go very deep into the playbook so far this year so hopeful they will have a few surprises in store for BYU on Friday.
