Article- Louisville-Clemson, another early top-10 matchup, on tap for rising ACC
Nice article about the game coming up and about the improvement of the ACC as a conference.

RE: Article- Louisville-Clemson, another early top-10 matchup, on tap for rising ACC
I was planning on discussing this in my blog tomorrow, but why not...
Not only is the ACC a close 3rd, but notice that the gap between the ACC and #4 Pac-12 is 2X greater than the gap between the ACC and #1 SEC... those who were saying last year that it's really a P3 were right, they just had the wrong #3 conference.

Big 12 has fallen off bigly.

Man, that graphic is right where the ACC wants and needs to be if we could make that the norm. Basically interchangeable with the number two conference, and not a giant chasm behind #1.
The ACC has to continue to get better to make this the norm, and not just a peak, but as a standard, the ACC would be fine if this was mostly the order of things.

I concede that:
a. These conference ratings measures are always flawed in some ways
b. Things are skewed by Houston being so good
However, the Big 12 is only rated 18 points higher than the AAC, while being rated 19 points lower than the 4th place PAC 12. By this measure, they are closer to the AAC than to the PAC, let alone the ACC and B1G.
Now I don't believe that's a true reflection, but it certainly is ugly.

I don't think it's far-fetched to think that the AAC is nearly as good as the Big XII this year. The AAC has a better ooc record this year, both overall (28-12 vs 19-11) and even against P5 teams (6-11 vs 2-6). Head-to-head it's 2-2...

Not to mention Houston. The B12 is out of title contenders even though technically Baylor & WV still have an outside shot to make the CFP's.

ACC to Big XII gap: 85 - 58 = 27
Big XII to AAC gap: 58 - 40 = 18

You should have used an "airplane crashing" graph. It's more descriptive and better captures the reality of the situation.

Please please, Cuse, Pitt, Miami, Va Tech, BC, and other fans that know spread the word, let them all know, when the Big 12 forgoes expansion, and they will, and when Texas and Oklahoma refuse to extend GOR past 2025 and they will, do not please do not take WVU back into the Acc. I know they fit perfect geographically and all. But go after Kansas and Kansas State before WVU please...

You must not have ever had any dealings with any Texas Tech fans.
The only two fanbases I have personally dealt with that were worse have been Maryland and of course Georgia. It says a lot when I would rather go to a game against South Carolina than one against Texas Tech.

I wouldnt mind WV in the ACC. Im in the minority here, I know. But they would be a good add, for fb and bb. I would just never visit there for any game.

Kansas State fans were the most hospitable I have ever encountered. It was surreal. They bring a football mindset, with a decent hoops program. Yeah, they're in the middle of nowhere, but that defines that conference.
I don't see a possibility that they ever join the ACC though.
