Well, he's not going to say "if we don't beat Ball State, it's 0-7 and I'm gone."

As of tonight, he didn't name Maddie the starter, which is hard to understand. Half the problem is Baker lobbing him softballs when he should be grilling him.

I'm not saying Carey doesn't deserve to grilled, but that's not going to happen on that type of show.

Yeah, Bill has to do this show with Rod every week. It's not realistic to expect him to go all rough neck on him.

Even if it wasn't every week, I can't imagine Bill doing that.

Bill's job is to promote NIU. Not to air its dirty laundry

Bill Baker is just plain terrible. He will never put any pressure on Carey by asking a tough question. Listening to him on the radio is awful. He keeps saying "the pass is caught and dropped." Drives me nuts among other things.

I am a Bill Baker fan. I enjoy listening to him on game days and I think he is a true Huskies fan.

I enjoy listening to Bill Baker call a game and I also enjoy Mark Lindo and Andy Garcia. Bill bleeds red and black and as Striker mentioned his job is to promote the program, he is not a journalist and he should not be held to those standards. He is a professional and he takes a considerable amount of pride in putting out a great broadcast each and every time he calls a game.

Living in Columbus, Ohio I have an opportunity to listen to the tOSU radio crew on occasion and I actually prefer Bill Baker. He has been so loyal for so long that it will seem strange when he is no longer the voice of the Huskies. It is rare for a program like ours to have a guy like him for the tenure that he has had with the program.

John, try not to lecture us. I'm fully aware of who he works for. How he got there is fans like me listening. Maybe he could ramp up a question or two. But doing this radio show to review stats is totally pointless.

Bill bleeds Red and Black. And even if he did ask harder questions, do you think he'd get any useful answers out of the coach? Not likely. Same for most coaches.

Couldn't agree more--Baker is horrible. Most of the time you don't even know what yard line the ball is at.

Then don't listen. John's right. Find any situation where the team's reporter/announcer will really ask them tough questions, even in professional sports, it doesn't happen folks. Amazing that you don't understand that.

Don"t care who he works for he is still a lousy play by play announcer.

Bill Baker is one of the best announcers in the business. He is a true Huskie fan. He makes the Huskies sound good even when we're down by a bunch.
