They are not about to give massive cuts to the major conferences and keep paying the minor conferences...

once again, if you can predict the future of CFB, you shouldn't be hanging around this board. But, if major metropolitan area schools improve-especially when GAP IN TV CONTRACTS ARE LESS- who knows what a conference like the AAC might bring with scaled back contracts for ALL conferences
You are literally arguing to argue. I don't have to have a crystal ball to safely predict that in 20 years a conference of Memphis, Houston, Cinci, and Temple will not be nearly as valuable or desirable as a conference of Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M and Florida...

If TV contracts for the major conferences see major cuts then smaller conferences will be lucky to get any contracts at all. The P4 or P5 will make sure the lower conferences are not going to be close to having an even playing field.

Anytime someone has a different opinion than you, you bring up something like "literally arguing to argue". You have no fricking idea what the world will be like in 20 years let alone CFB.

Non P5 are getting s*** on right now and this is ONE approach to try to stop it. Not a lot to lose. For those holding your breath to get into AAC, that's RIDICULOUS!!

Not really. Only when someone is trying to claim that Memphis, Houston, and Temple will be as valuable and desireable of a football conference as USC, UCLA, and Oregon or Texas, OU, and OSU or Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M...

I don't think anyone with a reasonable mind would argue the above. Which is exactly proves the point that it's time our 50% of D1 colleges Step Up and refuse to play the role of Patsy forever.

Our 50% of D1 colleges DESERVE something to play for. Meaning we break away from the Mafia and form our own National Championship in which we all play by the same rules.

A team like Memphis will NEVER hoist the Gold Trophy under the Roy Cramer made monopoly.

Let the "Big Boys" figure out how to play 12 games a year without 50% of D1 teams to fill their stadiums and line their pocketbooks.

We need to find a network who wants to break up the ESPN/ABC/CBS MONOPOLY.

Que the Fox and NBC channels

NBC owns Notre Dame and that's it

Fox could obtain 50% of D1 football and gain a nice share of the D1 marketshare. No it's not the SEC, Big 10, or PAC 12 but it's still a significant amount of programming (i.e. Gamblers). Football gamblers are glued to the TV sets. Just reality of business

The P5 have already figured out how to play 12 games without the G5. And the networks don't need us either. If the networks did need the G5, they would pay us. And BTW, 50% of the D-1 market share minus the P5 is not worth very much. Further, without the buy games with the P-5, which the MAC, Sunbelt & many of the CUSA schools rely upon to fund their programs, they couldn't even play D-1 FB. I appreciate your zeal but it has no substantive logic that would help our program or even damage P-5 programs.

All it does is serve as a way for the P5 to save themselves the money of "buy games" and then keeps those funds from filtering down to the smaller conferences and programs.
