The title of this thread should be changed to "damning evidence of hopeful liberals being uninformed".

Did they know this when they saw him with a gun?

Why would it matter? It would have only made it worse, not better.

If you see someone with a drawn gun, the proper assumption is that he is likely to use it. You'd REALLY have to know the guy well to assume otherwise.

You seem to thing someone with a drawn gun should be treated like he doesn't have one at all?

A drawn gun.

Open Carry does not mean 'at the ready' or 'drawn'. On your hip isn't a danger... keep your hands on the dash or above your waist and it's not a problem. Reach quickly below the waist for ANYTHING (unless specifically instructed, and do it slowly then) and you're getting shot 9 times out of 10. In your hand is a danger, until you drop it. Even then, they're coming to arrest you quickly and in numbers.

What people don't understand is that more cops means more probability of being shot for quick moves, not less. If every cop would shoot 9 times out of 10, then if 2 cops, it's 95% and 3 cops 97% and 10 cops 99%. (I don't remember the formula but the percentage goes UP, not down)

QUick moves doesn't seem to have much of a bearing here, but it's a common problem in these situations.

It really doesn't matter fit. They told him to drop it 12 ******* times or more.

I get what you are saying but I'm trying to understand how it got to that point. If N.C. is an open carry state, isn't it common to see someone carrying a weapon?

What prompted the police to draw their weapons on this guy?

Because he wouldn't put the mother ****** down to start with. FFS, are you really this dense? If somebody gets pulled over they need to put the damn gun down when the cop tells them too. He had a gun while he was in the car and they told him to put it down. He got out of the car with it anyway. Damn dude.

I have yet to see any video evidence that this is so.

Oh, good grief.

5 years ago you, or anyone else wouldn't have seen video of schit. Do you really need a damn utube to understand when the cops are yelling, repeatedly, "Put down the f$%*ing gun" that there's a very good chance these 4-5 guys didn't all get together, decide among themselves-

"Ok, Im a dirty cop, are you a dirty cop? Let's go shoot a black guy, even though, yea, I'm black too, but that aside. YOU yell put down the F$%%ing gun a dozen times, I'll do the shooting, You, Boss, can you bring and plant the gun even though cameras will be rolling, thanks?, then you, you and you all play along".

Ready? Break!

"Let's go kill some random dude, break countless laws in this environment and ALL risk spending the rest of our lives in jail. I'm sure our wives and kids will all find it worthwhile, cause well, it's what we do. Hunt black men."

You would have to be certifiable to possibly believe that. But, then again... 07-coffee3

Dead perp had an extensive criminal record. Dead perp drew a firearm from his leg holster and brandished it. Dead perp refused to comply with the order to drop the weapon...12 times. Dead perp.

Not many of us left. Actually I think it's a very powerful learning moment and its exactly how things should work. I saw this posted on a Univ of Michigan fan web site. I thought "Oh my Goodness"! How awful. Post it here and I found compelling evidence to the contrary. I'm very glad I became more informed and can make a more informed decision.

It's too bad you have the hyenas looking for pot shots. In the end it degrades the spin room in my opinion its a reason why leftist posters leave the place.

Well I don't presume to speak for rath but I was talking about the fact that the linked video that gave you your talking point was made by someone who hates law enforcement.

But again I do think it's interesting that you automatically assume I was talking about you.

Ohhhhhh. The people making the video I think now blurred the right on purpose. They purposely misled. It sure looked horrible. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This was a deliberate act to deceive. I'm so very thankful it's false and I'm glad I found out the truth.

The perpetrators of that video didn't jump to anything. That was a deliberate attempt to deceive.

Burglar telling police he sold the gun to him that was recovered at the scene.

He wife, you know, the one who kept yelling "he don't got no gun", filed a restraining order against him last year. She told police he had a GUN, he hit her, and threatened to kill her.

RE: Damning evidence of a gun plant in the Charlotte case.
From the restraining order:

"He hit my 8 year old in the head a total of 3 times with his fist... he kicked me and threaten (sic) to kill us last night with his gun. He said he is a killer and we should know that."

In the section where it asks: "Is there any reason that a law enforcement officer should consider the defendant a potential threat", she marked yes and wrote "he carries a 9mm black".
