The long term plan is not to be independent. It does make sense to have a long term relationship beyond the four game series as we are relatively so close. Heard West Point is beautiful and plan on visiting Nov 9, 2019 weekend.

A good buddy of mine is a UMASS fan, so I am somewhat as well.

Would UMASS accept an all-sports invite to CUSA if to comes, or would they politely decline like the did regarding the MAC's invite?

We have a strong first preference, and a football only second preference.

It would be a difficult decision. Our AD did said, (This is second hand.) if he was AD at the MAC ultimatum, the answer may not have been no.

There will be a stadium expansion but the conference affiliation will determine it's scope. Think the bond issue would piggyback on the 2.5 Billion of system wide capital spending, which follows a 1.9 billion spend in the past five years.

What about current support for Whipple? Does the fanbase still believe in him? Does the Department of Athletics?

From TV, the U Mass stadium looked interesting with a lot of space within its current framework to add seats and modernize it. Look s like there were a lot of walls that could be taken down and seats and amenities added.

All very true and is the reason there are many expansion options ranging from 4 Mill to 140 Mill. The AAC is not going to give any charity to UMass, but if you look how the A10 managed conference realignment, it may not be charity. The A10 bulked up to 15 teams, knowing it would eventually lose some team to realignment. The A10 is doing fine after taking the hits of losing Xavier, Butler, Temple, and Charlotte. Perhaps the AAC could add us with a future date and then not give us a full share for several years. This way it would help to build up the football team, enable us to properly expand McGuirk and balance Olympic sports divisions. Do appreciate Tulane coming to McGuirk.

I always love it when cocky fools like you get shown up. This is not the Tulane of the past, although UConn has no room to talk down to anyone. We'll get better every week as our players learn the system. By the time we get to UConn in late November, we should have no problem handling whatever you guys can throw at us.

If the Mid-Atlantic were producing football talent as it had from the 1960's thru 1990's there would be a reasonable expectation for a bright outlook at UMass & UConn. Unfortunately, the Mid-Atlantic is a boneyard compared to what it was decades ago and the trends are not bright for the future. Using home-grown New England talent supplemented with Mid-Atlantic, Southeast & Mid-West leftovers is a road to nowhere in a region where the single greatest measure of football culture is "The Game"(Yale vs. Harvard).

Such a miserable red-a$$! Tulane wins 1 game and you all think you're a freaking Clemson or Ohio State. You're not and what's more you know you aren't. Probably why you need to go full keyboard warrior on anyone who makes a critical post.

No, we don't. We remain fans of a football team that has underperformed for decades longer than your program has existed. We know how horrible our teams have been, and yet we still support them.

The Mid - Atlantic talent is picked out by the B-10 and ACC now. 07-coffee3

UMASS should have accepted the MAC all sports offer. Any further move to the AAC if offered would have worked out financially. At least the football program would have been secure while the program grew and the stadium expansion could have continued closing the opened wall stadium end. BB would have dominated the MAC also with UMASS taking the MAC bid to the NCAA frequently. UMASS could have played old A-10 schools OOC that were close to cut down on travel for the Olympic Sports too. Opportunity lost. 07-coffee3

The stadium expansion for the MAC would look very different than for the AAC. We'll have to see what the future brings. It was a move by the old AD, who thought Benson had power and the Sun Belt would take a football only team. It sounded bad on both fronts. The old AD was pushed out and made many questionable decisions. Ryan Bamford knows the importance of FBS football and fired both the hockey and women basketball coach for poor performance.
