Why We Should Beat SMU
WE have some built in advantages in the upcoming game with the Mustangs. The first and maybe most important is the way the schedule is laid out.

TU is off this week and the game is scheduled for a Friday night of the next week. That means there should be no preparation effect on us as we gameplan and prepare ahead of what would normally be a short week, but isn't.

But the SMU team has a problem. They will have to go to Temple Oct 1st which is not a particularly easy trip and then a short 6 days later make their trek to Tulsa. With one less day to prepare after what will probably be a physical game in Philly, the advantage obviously is ours. We should be healed up and chomping at the bit for some Mustang meat. But of course like any game, we must play well. So i fully expect to be 4-1 headed to Houston on October 15th.

And lets also hope their (SMU) very good and experienced Senior QB Matt Davis is still sidelined.

RE: Why We Should Beat SMU
If we look at the schedule this year on down the line, at 3-1 so far, I think its appropriate to say we have a better than 50% chance to go bowling. Now at this point we can still stumble, but it just isn't happening. The idea that we are capable of winning ANY game where we were down 31-0 means these kids are really special. The only thing I fear right now is a crucial injury or "injuries". We need to keep Dane's uniform "clean" and our runners and receivers healthy as well as our defensive starting unit.

With our amazing play, we should be in high demand come bowl season. But the caveat is the conference looks even tougher this year than last. Houston will possibly be a top 4 team and P5 possiblility. Memphis, Navy and us from the west could play competitive FB for just about any conference in america.

So I think we will go bowling this year if we just keep doing what we are now - our 21st bowl. But in the off season, we need to find a way to keep the facilties improving and the staff intact.
