RE: Conference OOC performance through Week 4
Isn't this to be expected? It is harder to get the win on the road then at home...

RE: Conference OOC performance through Week 4
Ah, true enough. The home teams should get zero credit, in truth.
After all, they just show up to the stadium, trot out to the 50 yard line, take a bow, and then proceed directly to Go. No work or effort, whatsoever.

Any way you slice it -- on pure W-L alone -- the Big Ten is the top dog, for now.
But ... we all know that "pure W-L" is a terrible way to evaluate, unless everyone is playing the same schedule.

RE: Conference OOC performance through Week 4
CUSA going after teams like UNT, FIU, UNCC, and FAU who are bad teams in large markets has turned out to be one of the worst decisions in college football history.
They have gone from a conference that once had Louisville, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, Memphis to the worst conference in FBS.

RE: Conference OOC performance through Week 4
It's hard to compare road records because of the relatively small sample size. But that small sample size is a meaningful stat in its own right.
If you are waiting for the B1G to play enough road OOC games to judge their performance, don't hold your breath. The fact is, they have already played all their road OOC games. Eight B1G teams will not play a single OOC road game all year. Not one!
The only teams that won't play 7 home games are Maryland, which plays 6, and Michigan which will play 8. Sounds like a nice head start on a winning season.

RE: Conference OOC performance through Week 4
Just a quick question: Are G5 vs P5 games done for the regular season, or are there still a few random ones during the Conference portion of the schedule?

Wow, Toledo! I was interested to see how they'd do at BYU.
Basically, they deserved to win the game. Scored TD and then go-ahead 2pt conversion with 1min left. They earned the win. Just forgot to stop BYU at the end.

Actually, that's not such a quick question. I'll look into it. I do know that Michigan State still has BYU ahead (the last OOC game for the B1G).

But BYU isn't a G5, though.

Thanks for compiling that ken!
PS - you should include FCS games in the first post, to make the SEC look even worse!

RE: Conference OOC performance through Week 4
BYU is a tweener team at best. They have 6 P5 games this year. They've had 23 P5 games last 5 years regular season. So 29 in 6 seasons- or an average of less than 5. That's no P5 team.
