NIU MAC Dominance
Interesting thought.
Since Rod took the reins, he has been able to beat up on the MAC (with a few exceptions) and denied some very good MAC West teams the chance to go to Detroit. Now dont get me wrong, I definitely want a change at the HC position asap and the only way that happens is if the ship completely sinks not just has a few holes. However how funny and satisfying would it be if we went into MAC play and returned to Detroit after going 0-4?

I've always said I like positive thinking so nice job. Unless you are totally bombed from watching today's game. This will give us a reason to show up for at least next week I guess. Unfortunately several MAC west teams look damn good. I will say that Maddie did look good. Too bad Graham was pulled too late. Hand your keys to a DD just in case you are wasted though.

i will say, if there ever was a season for us to take a dump, this looks like the best option. The MAC West is jammed with skill. Two teams undefeated in OOC play and the others only have one loss... aaaannnddd then there's us.

I actually take more pride in solid OOC wins and bowl wins than MAC and Conference Champ wins...and I dont think this will happen... But would be funny and piss off our MAC brethern.

I bet you could find a very lucrative investment in the Vegas sportsbooks on that scenario. Too bad you likely have a better shot at hitting the Powerball.

Right now WMU is 6 TDs better than the huskies. I see the WMU game as something like 56-14

Not going to happen. We will not get back to where we were until Carey is gone.

This is a bad team all around this year. No discipline, no leadership. Everybody in the MAC is improved except for us. Signs of a bad team...... You have key players posting pictures on social media about how awesome they are, but we're 0-4. None of these guys have a clue. Including the coaches.

We were incredibly lucky to even make it to the MACC last year. We basically stumbled backwards into it then proceeded to get embarrassed. I'd rather not have a repeat of that at this point. The greatest end to this season would be to see Rod pack his bags and leave.

these seniors, juniors and sophomores have always played in the MACC. the talent is "there" just not disciplined. i'd think it isn't a bad team talent-wise. Just comfortable in assuming that this is going to be given to them.

Via ESPN's Adam Rittenberg:
"ESPN has obtained Northern Illinois' presentation packet for leagues considering expansion. It highlights the football program's MAC-record eight consecutive bowl games and three league titles since 2011. There are charts comparing NIU with other MAC programs in on-field success, academic success, bowl TV ratings and local TV market size. NIU didn't make the first cut in the Big 12's expansion process but could be a candidate for the American Athletic Conference if the league loses members to the Big 12."

He posted a couple pictures. How about that Russell Wilson quote?
Looks like football picked a bad time to dive. Most of those charts will look a lot different soon if this season continues to be a loser. Seeing that information though at least makes me think Frazier isn't going to let this thing spiral down too far. If you are pitching other leagues on the strength of your football program then you will need to right the ship sooner than later.

Exactly thats what I was sayin earlier as well. SF treats football like the golden child in expansion chats, as he should. With the master plan in seed money stage and basketball turning the corner, everything was looking great.... Until the Ohio game last year. I dont think he will let the program take more than a few steps back... Bc his beautiful charts will go down the tubes.

If there is plans on letting Carey go, what saves him at this point? MAC Championship only, .500 record, what? If we manage a decent season are we going to go through this next year again? LSU fired Les Miles now in case the team comes back to have a decent season. Where do we stand?

I don't think Frazier plans on being here when his plan is implemented. In some ways he had the easy part of the plan, the draft. My fear for him in terms of his career, is that Carey could be his ultimate downfall, it may keep him at NIU a long long time.
