First road win since 2013...boys needed this...stoked!

I really thought the Rice offense would keep with the smashmouth in the 2nd OT. That's how they came back, the Owls cashed in that huge TOP advantage in the 4th and in OT. Jareid Combs with a huge DL push to turn back the Rice RB Dillard on 4th and inches.

Perhaps this tough gut-check road win will catapult the Mean Green faster along the road back to contending. Looking at the Rice players at the end it may be that they are about to spiral downward hard especially if the Bailiff-in-jeopardy talk continues.

Okay my bad then. It appeared to me as if his elbow landed and then ball came lose before he came down.

As it stands now, UNT is tied for 1st in the West.

Nice conference road win for the Mean Green!

Just got back from Houston. Wow! What a game.

But, before I get to that I have to say the Rice fans are top notch. Rice stadium is my favorite road trip. They have an amazing campus, kind respectful fans, and a great football venue, with a wonderful new end-zone addition. Anyone that has never been to Rice Stadium for a road game really needs to make the trip (preferably for a night game).

About the game... North Texas made several mistakes on offense (poor blocking by the O-line), and defense (couldn't stop jumping off sides), but managed to scrap their way to a win. It wasn't pretty, but since we had not won a road game since 2013, it was certainly a step forward. I'm excited about the direction Littrell seems to have this program headed.
