If not for the students, it would not be pretty.
Eastside sent me a pic from the Houston game on his way in of the Alumni lot that had about 3 spots out of 10 being used. That continues to piss me off how they botched that.
It appears that they got priced out of the market by the Athletic Department. Spoke to someone that moved 7 spaces from the Alum lot to the roof of a parking garage (forgot which one). For $300 per season he explained that they get both a space for their car and an additional space next to it for setting up a tailgate. His group actually grew to 9 spaces with the move.

My wife and I brought both red and black shirt because we never know if we are going to be in section 214 or 215 until we pick up our ticket from will call. We were in a black section, so we wore the black outfits. Should have just wore the red and forgot about the striping thing. It was scorching in that sun.
I am still surprised how many people stand and watch from the concourse. I was guessing there were 35-36K there when I factor in the packed concourses.
I know when we entered the game, the guy in front of me and my season tickets wouldn't scan and the usher was getting frustrated with the thing not registering. So I'm sue the scanned number would have been off anyway.

Yep. The money grab killed the best tailgating experience on campus. As you know, like you guys we went back to the 80's there until we pulled the plug when the changes hit.
I'd be curious to learn if there was a drop off in active members of the alumni association. That lot was the best advertisement for AA membership signups on the planet. Its a damn shame.

Probably depends on how you count members of the Alumni Association. My wife and I bought lifetime memberships right after graduation in 1989. Cost maybe $200 each. I still use the card to get discounts on stuff we buy at the bookstore, but we don't seem to get any other benefits. So I am not sure if I am really a member of the Alumni Association or not.

I think UC made a mistake with some of the outdoor club seats. The people that paid for them don't seem to be using them and why would they when they have heated or air-conditioned comfort up above them. You can't blame them for that. It's just like what you see at PBS for Bengals games.
Nippert needed the club section but it would have been nice to add some general outdoor seating in the new addition.
UC may have to get creative with some ticket pricing as well. $29 per game can be a bit pricey when you add in $15-20 to park and you bring your family to a game.

There are charity organization that will take tickets and you get a tax deduction.
Give to friends that will use.
Or sell cheap on Stubhub, Vivid or Seatgeek.
Never let them be unused.

So Yeah , I dont know if I missed it but whats the story there? We tailgate in Campus Green garage overlooking the alumni lot and it used to be a packed full. Fun atmosphere to overlook . Now its a third full, if that. So they really jacked up the price I assume?
Also if we are b****ing about attendance when they announce 38,000 tix sold , Im gonna hate to see it around here after the USF , ECU and Memphis games . BYU we will be fine.

Of course we will be fine when BYU visits. They are the most popular team in the history of football and their fans are gifts to the stadiums they visit. They will probably clean nippert after the game and solve the problems with the restroom lines.
Sorry - I wanted to get this line of BS started before someone from the BYU board showed up to tell us how wonderful they are...

Don't know anyone is complaining about ticket sales or questioning what the ticket office says/claims - however, historically UC used to announce "attendance" on the number of people who came through the turnstiles. Some time ago there was a big discussion with the claim that UC was hurting itself by doing that since many (most?) other schools were reporting "attendance" based on ticket sales, so our figures were not as good. If we are now doing it on ticket sales so be it - but I have a tough time believing that there were 38,000+ rear ends in the stadium last Saturday.

Honestly, for a program that is lacking excitement at the moment, we couldn't ask for a better home conference slate than what we have this year. Memphis will be a draw because of proximity and the relative rivalry. ECU travels well. USF is a familiar foe and has a good team this year. Houston was on a Thursday, and ranked. Imagine if we had any combination of Tulsa, Tulane, and SMU at home.......

On TV vs. Miami on Saturday in the 2nd half, Nippert looked to be about 40% empty. Student attendance seemingly dropped throughout the second half and the premium west side club seats looked 80-90% empty. It actually was very disappointing considering that Bohn had indicated two days before the game that sales had reached 38,000.

Attendance was not great as a school 30 miles away brings almost no one. I was in my usual CLUB SEATS and observed 85% full at the max point. I suggest you consult Dr. Jean Noll at Cincinnati Center for Sight as your eyeglasses need to be stronger.

I'm in 207. It was hot, I mean hot in that Sun. I went down at the half just to get out of the heat. Many didn't return after the half in my section, must have stayed downstairs. I noticed the student section bailed after MU took the lead. If students claim they were around at the end of this one, we definitely know where they went at the end of the 3rd quarter.
