RE: Women's Cross Country @ A&M
The key to the team win was the fact that both Abigail Cartwright and Katie Jensen passed Baylor All-American Maggie Montoya in the final 2,000 meters of the race. At the 4K mark, Cartwright and Jensen were running together, about 20-25 meters behind Montoya. By the end, Cartwright was over 50 meters ahead of Montoya, and Jensen about 20 meters.
Coming into today's race, Rice was #3 in the South Central Region, while Baylor was 4th. But, Rice did not use one of its top 5, Elsa Racasan, as she likely will open her season at Kansas.
