Some don't know it but many white people have black friends that they socialize with. This is usually done where the majority of other people are white. I believe that if white people would socialize once in awhile with their black friends where 80% of the people around them were black it could give a new and helpful perspective. They might feel that they really weren't welcome, like outsiders, that they were being watched and judged and yes, they even may feel a little scared. That is just a normal day as a black person in America. But that's ok because black people have fought and died to show how much they love this country despite some challenges that they face just due to their skin color. I believe many are just asking that white, black, brown we just all get judged as individuals and treated equally by the law and the courts. Currently there is no debating that is not happening. I personally wouldn't protest the Anthem but I see where some are coming from!

I just get frustrate because half the people that do these protests are just trying to increase their own profiles and the other half are just ignorant because they are being misled by the media that is helping the left in perpetuating a false narrative. The extent that minoities are being manipulated by the left makes me so sad

So you're saying there haven't been several instances of african americans getting shot and killed while either unarmed or already subdued by police lately?

What's ironic is that a Tulsa police woman shot and killed an unarmed black man in with other officers there. Those other officers quite literally witnessed a cold blooded murder of an innocent man, and yet none of them drew their weapon on her or subdued her. There was only one threat at that scene and she was wearing a badge and given power and armed with a deadly weapon.

Black people kill black people all the time. Whites kill whites too. That's not the discussion though and people that try and make it that are completely missing the point.

But that is part of the discussion, or at least it should be. This high indignation about one white cop doing a terrible thing looks incongruous given that in these same communities, hundreds of black men are killing each other every summer. You just don't see the same frequency in white on white crime--or any other race for that matter--as you do within black communities. It seems a little disingenuous to suggest the discussion in question should be about black men having more to fear with regard to being 'profiled' by the police, when they are being gunned down in their own communities at a much higher rate.

As far as the whole "black people get profiled and targeted more" dictum, as ethnically diverse as America is, I would think that this narrative of our police force teaming with "racists" operating incognito out to get innocent minorities would have more evidence--if it weren't for the fact only one group is complaining about it. Hispanics make up a huge portion of our population, yet somehow they are able to co-exist within our communities and the law. No shootings, no riots, no protests, no cries of "social injustice." What about Asians, Indians, and Arabs too? I guess they must all live privileged lives somehow escaping the oppressive boot of the evil, racist white man looking to hunt them down because you don't hear about shootings involving people of those racial backgrounds either.
