Anybody with a modicum of intelligence reads that article and says "What a bunch of dumbasses to fall for that." You read it and think that it's normal procedure, thus my original point stands. I just heard it on the radio a few months ago. It was debated back and forth whether or not it was an actual training technique. At least two or three people called in to the show and confirmed that it was in fact a training technique. One of the callers claimed that he was stationed at Fort Bliss and worked with bomb sniffing dogs in Iraq and he also confirmed that it was true.

Too much info for Feet, now he'll try to apply for the job of bomb sniffer.

Only by an idiot with no understanding of pack behavior.

A k9 would need to recognize the officer as the alpha... The alpha wouldn't masturbate the pack. The alpha would in fact 'mount' the pack... in dogs, they hump each other... for humans, simply standing straddling the dog, or in a worst case (aggressive dog), on your knees straddling them, holding them down by the neck.

Masturbating the dog would make THEM the alpha. You want the dog humping the criminals, not their masters. In a pack, it's not just the leader and everyone else... there is a hierarchy all the way down. You want the k9 dominating the other humans
