What is the worst case scenario for the GOP?
Trump loses but clearly outperforms Romney and McCain. Trumpism is still alive and well and the Tea Party becomes a footnote in History. Trump stole the GOP's base. I was reading this morning that Trump is down 12 points in college educated whites. A demo that the GOP relies on to win presidential elections. Romney was +7 with this group in 2012. How does the GOP recover? Trump has killed the party.

Every year, I am in college, the term college educated means less and less aware of critical thinking. My one English class yesterday was a bashing of Thanksgiving and the idea that the Native Americans were completely innocent of any bloodshed and that the colonists were all killers.

Worst case scenario... Hillary wins at all.

Cause it's four more years of hell, no matter what.

And college educated white persons.. are we referring to CURRENTLY in college or completely out of college?
I'd wager that the breakdown between those two are drasticly different, as college students are typically Sanders-socialist democrats.

Any college educated person that votes for a criminal like Hillary needs a refund on their education.

Yep 7 points. They've won them since Eisenhour.

The "base" has been sitting out elections.

Worse case? Trump wins. 4/8 years of a Dem, and his entire leftist, big government entitlement family, running our party. Republicans give up.

I prefer to think about the best case scenario for the GOP.

Trump loses big, the crazies go back under the rock from which they came.

A new GOP emerges that reaches out to and embraces minorities.

He's not going to lose big. He might outperform their last two.

The GOP has been dying a slow death for years. Win or lose, that won't change. The only reason Trump even has a slight chance is because Clinton carries so much baggage. The only reason Clinton has a chance is because the GOP is running Trump.

Two of the worst possible candidates in history. Thankfully, I don't have to vote for either of them.

If he in fact loses by a small margin then It is bad news for the GOP.

Worst case scenario:
Hillary wins.
Democrats take Senate and House (latter pretty far fetched).
Replaces Thomas, Kennedy, Scalia and Breyer with Ginsburg types.
Bernie supporters take over the Democratic party in the House and Senate.
Trump goes off the deep end and ticks off Hispanics, making the electoral math very difficult like how Pete Wilson flipped California for a generation or more in what used to be a state as Republican as Indiana (15 of the 19 governors since 1899 have been Republican and 2 of the 4 Democrats were related)

I think that's the way it is shaping up. It's a perfect storm of angst for them. They can't win but they can't move past their base either.

RE: What is the worst case scenario for the GOP?
The only thing that is 'Trumpism' is not speaking politically correct BS, not being 'for sale' and not being more concerned with the party than the people.

I don't like many of his policies and I think his mannerisms are anything but Presidential, but I DO like those things about him.

The whole 'cant move past your base' is silly.

They certainly aren't going to vote for Democrats. Whatever problems republicans have, Bernie clearly demonstrated that Democrats have similar problems. They embrace the base, but they can't move past ACTUAL progressives (people actually trying to change things)

Funny. The GOP probably has more governors and state legislatures than any time in their history.
