Open Thread 2016 - Week 4
Thursday
Clemson @ GT ESPN
Saturday
FSU @ USF noon ABC
ECU @ VT 12:30
CMU @ Virginia 12:30
Syracuse @ UCONN 1:00 CBSSN
Wag @ BC 1:00
Duke @ ND 3:30 NBC
Pitt @ NC 3:30 ESPN
WF @ IU 3:30 BTN
Louisville @ Marshall 8:00 CBSSN
ACC needs to go at least 5-3 in OOC games. FSU, BC, VT & UL need to win these games. It would be nice to see Cuse, WF & Virginia win theirs. Can Duke rebound against ND?

RE: Open Thread 2016 - Week 4
With a win @ IU, WF would open up the possibility of an 8-9 win season.
That would be stellar!
As long as one of those wins don't come against us!
Fight hard WF!

RE: Open Thread 2016 - Week 4
This week is huge for Carolina, less so for Pitt. A loss to the Panthers leaves them needing to come up with 4 wins against Florida State, Va Tech, Miami, Ga Tech, NC State, Duke and Virginia or they don't go bowling. That's still possible, but their margin for error would be razor thin.

Not necessarily. UNC will go at 6-6 with 2 Fcs wins... To Detroit or St Pete.

That's betting there won't be enough eligible teams to fill all the available slots. You don't want to put yourself in that position.

Wait -- seems like we're talking as if Carolina is vulnerable to PITT despite the fact Carolina has won the last 3 meetings. I'm sure Carolina couldn't tackle tall grass and James Conner was in the 2014 meeting and Carolina still won that one.
ken d -- love you, bruh, but I think you're making **** up for the sake of making **** up. Makes for good board traffic, tho.

Hey - I just noticed something. I'm not the only one taking Pitt this week in the Pickem'. Just sayin'.

It is tradition. They only wear non-white at home when the visiting team won't allow it (typically Wake Forest).

RE: Open Thread 2016 - Week 4
Meh. We got a real shot to have our first proper AD since Homer Rice. So I'll bank that as the win for tonight. The OL is still seriously questionable. The defense is better than last year, and is of the classic Roof bend-but-don't-break variety. But still isn't good enough to be a difference maker unless it gets turnovers.

RE: Open Thread 2016 - Week 4
At the half I don't know which is worse.....GT's flop at your knees offense, the ACC officials, or the crappy turf on Grant Field. Geeze that playing surface is a chopped up mess. Despite playing a full game in a flood and several games afterwards in th rain Death Valley never looked that bad.
