I think we're way undervalued. Basketball requires high end talent. We haven't near enough of it. This year we've got a first team all conference point guard, the league's defensive player of the year, that doesn't include Jacob Evans. We're a little less deep than last year but I expect this to be Mick's best team.

You've spelled out what this season boils down to. We have Clark, Caupain, Evans and Johnson who are known commodities; Kyle Washington who is coming off a transfer who we hope he plays as well as he practices; ditto for Tre Scott who is coming off a redshirt and then Cumberland and Brooks who we hope to contribute right away as a true freshman. Also, we need Justin Jennifer and Quad to step up their game in a big way to at least be serviceable.
So if our "ifs" come to fruition and everyone stays healthy this might be Mick's best team in ten years.

and if they find some way to coach up the big men so there is improvement and if they learn how to run an offense etc...
that state of uc athletics is the same every year for the last 4-5 in both football and basketball which to me indicates if we arent moving forward we are falling behind. i think this starts at the top with the athletic director.

I agree with this. Seems pretty stagnant for both programs. Big wins have been hard to find lately. I also have seen where WKU is absolutely killing it in recruiting with Stansbury. Something like a top ten class. Where is Mick on the recruiting side?

Cincinnati was ranked #21 in the 2011-12 preseason poll and #24 the following year in the preseason rankings. These things take less than 30 seconds of googling ( LINK). In fact, Cincinnati has been ranked at least one week in the AP Poll 6 of the last 7 years.
Also, BTW: This is just one outlet's preseason rankings. Cincinnati has been included in the preseason top 25 by ESPN (ranked #22), Athlon (ranked #20), NBCSports (ranked #21), etc.

The athletic director wasn't the one who extended both of their contracts a few months ago.
